I cant say as Ive ever been to a Demo Event om its own... I did do a test ride on Yamahas at the Progressive Bike Show bac in the early 2000s

I have only ever done 1 demo day. It was a Yamaha demo day. The bike shows quit doing demos by the time I started going to the show.

Details​

Saturday and Sunday 10am-4:00pm

Demos on MX track
You can ride up to 4 bikes a set number of laps on the track
NO Pre-Registration required.
There will be a fee to enter the facility (call track for details)

Free demos for all ages. Over 16 you must have off-road dirt bike experince to ride. Under 16 we will work to teach you the basics to be able to ride.

Riders under 18 must be accompanied by a parent to sign waivers prior to riding.

ALL riders (youth and adult) MUST have their own gear. Long Pants, long sleeve shirt, helmet, MX boots, gloves and eye protection. No Exceptions.
Please bring drivers license to registration to speed up the sign up process.

TT-R 50E, TT-R 110E, TT-R 125LE, YZ65,YZ85, YZ125, YZ125X, YZ250X, YZ250F, YZ250FX, YZ450F, YZ450FX
 
Doubt I can make it but 3-4 bikes I'd sure like to try back to back.
 
Know I wonder how Honda and Yamaha's (real) dirt bikes feel compared to KTM/Husky.
 
To be not a lot, most folks they can tell a difference. My boss/riding partner wants nothing to do with KTM. Honda/Yamaha and he has a stable.
Yamaha 125X, 250F, 250FX. Honda 250RX(19), 250RX(20) 450RX(21), his favorite bike. KTM 150XCW. He likes the new 450 so much he's going to sell a couple and get another one!
 
First 100 participants at demo events usually get some type of free swag. Right now, the swag is TShirts that say "I went to the demo event and all I got was COVID"

Been to a BMW, HD, Victory, Eurosport, and Yammy demo rides. What can you say, who doesn't like riding another cycle you don't own and using someone else's gas?
 
Motors on Yamahas seem more refined ie smooth. The reverse engine bikes do carry weight a little higher that a KTM.

Suspension on Yamahas are like factory suspension on other manufacturers.

It was typical get on the list for a slot to ride a specific bike. It was follow the leader. But a nice long ride and went through some reasonable twisties.
 
Helmet, long pants and closed toe shoes required. Use of gloves and jacket appreciated by the lead/chase riders. DL with motorcycle endorsement. Sign up for a specific bike. They have 300cc singles in sport and naked, 450cc twins in sport and naked, 700cc twins and 800cc adventure bikes and one 800cc naked bike. The also have the new 675cc sport bike triple, the '25 Ibex 800 with more features and a $500 decrease in price, a 450cc cruiser bike that is beautiful, and an Ibex 450 on display. All are preproduction models and can't be ridden by the general public. Sign up starts around 8:30 and rides are every 45 minutes. Limited to about 12 riders every 45 minutes unless there are special circumstances. Only 2 rides were "sold out" today. Oh, there are also 3 Papio 125s available.
 
If you are in the Katy area, you should go to the demo above. Ride the 450 and I think you will be impressed. The 800 NK is my second favorite. The Ibex 800 has a really smooth quick shifter for up and down shifts. A Quick shifter can be added to the 800NK. Order one for the 790 KTM. They make the CFMOTO engine.

Lots of demo rides at COTA this weekend. Most brands will be starting around 9:00 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. My experience tells me that you can get a demo ride earlier if you talk nice to the guys in charge. I'll be at the CFMOTO pit.
