Don't run from cops

I had my share of incidents being an idiot evading when I was young and an idiot. Looking back I thank God for not allowing me to I ruin my life by being caught or worse. These days if I'm nailed dead to rights I pull over, apologize, admit my wrongs without excuse and this method surprisingly more times than not gets me a stern warning. If only I could go back and talk some sense into 18yr old Zach.

I once got a an escort from Saint Louis. Missouri all the way to Kansas city. One highway patrol in front, two behind. They never turned their lights on but if I pulled off to get gas, the two behind me would do the same and the one in front would wait on the shoulder just past the on ramp. Needless to say, I didn't make good time... LOL..

You should've stopped for lunch and a nap. They'd lose interest eventually!

Had a party to get to at Kansas State. It was better to be slowed to 70 the entire time. I resumed 100 plus once I was on the other side of Kansas city. Made it to the party an hour late..

Remember that one chase where the guy got away from the police car and the helicopter? Me neither.

It's happened just your chances aren't good lol. As for the radio. IT's helpful but if there's not an officer in the right position to intercept it won't matter.

Here is the Brazilian method.

The ol FAL "Stop stick" lol.
Good concept, but needs a good high fire rate GPMP. Something like an MG-42 or MG-3.
Given the area with houses/businesses and lots of traffic I'd imagine they want something like the FAL to keep stray bullets to a minimum.

Frangible Ammo would eliminate peripheral damage and ricochet…..🌞

I got pulled over in a work truck when I worked for UT Austin. The sheriff was an Aggie and ready to give me a ticket untill I told him I was and Aggie. New Mexico state Aggie that is. He said close enough and sent me along with a warning.

Most of my stupid exploits as a kid never involved LEOs cause they were not anywhere close by to know what was going on. The only exception to that was sideswiping a sheriff as he was pulling in to work in his personal truck. We got to talking and he found out I did auto body so he had me fix it at my expense.

And also do very little to the car.
Perhaps….
I was thinking it would do enough…in a larger caliber rifle round..😊

It will definitely go through the gas tank, tires, rider, etc... None of which are preferable if you're trying to run from the cops. Ive seen frangible projectiles that were stuck in the berm at a range coming flying out when shooting new rounds into the berm. They were not coming out with a lot of velocity they just bounced out onto the deck. The berm was covered in ground rubber on top of the dirt. The frangible projectiles looked like they could be reloaded. If they don't hit a really hard plate they are not as frangible as one would think. On another note frangible ammo will often penetrate a ballistic vest even though it would stop a FMJ in the same caliber.

I had a cop follow me around campus for a while at Mizzou once. I hadn't done anything wrong that I was aware of. Maybe he liked my motorcycle. I kept taking random left and right turns until he eventually kept going straight.

We were coming home from visiting the wife's kinfolk in Indiana. A vehicle passed us on I-55 south toward West Memphis. Had a Cowboys sticker on the back window. As we were almost in West Memphis and that person was receiving a ticket. About half way to Little Rock, they pass by us. As we were getting in yo Little Rock, guess what, another ticket. Told the wife, some people never learn. Two out of state tickets.
You watch. His family will sue LAPD and win.

Almost 30 years ago, just after I retired from the military, I was working in a Rural Health Clinic in a small community just south of my home. One of my responsibilities was providing health care to residents of a nursing home. One late afternoon on my way home I was contacted by staff at the facility. A resident was in respiratory distress and my presence was requested. I was driving my retirement present to me, a new ‘02 Z06 Corvette. I made a u-turn and headed south. Not sure of my speed but in the 120-140 mph range I met one of our state’s finest. Flashing lights behind me encouraged me to pull over. The trooper approached and asked me where I was going in such a hurry. After a quick explanation he told me “get your *** gone, my mother’s in there”. I quickly headed out and within a mile the Texas Highway Patrolman passed me with lights flashing. I received a very high speed escort all the way to my destination. The patient was not his mother but the outcome was good. I eventually changed employment and worked in the Emergency Department of a level 2 trauma center for the next 20 years. I saw that trooper and many other law enforcement officers in the ER many times over the years. I kept the Corvette until 7 years ago and final retirement. I had the nickname “The Yellow Flash” from the original trooper who has since retired and is now deceased. I never got a ticket in my local area and I do have a heavy foot at times.
Got to love our “cops”.

****, that was brutal regardless of the circumstances. Hope the people in the car avoided serious injury. I figure at a minimum they got smacked by an air bag.
