End of Month Ride (Southern Style)

Great to meet some fellow riders and see some people I had not seen in a while. Thanks for getting us together, Rydah!
Glad you made it; now get ready for the next one in September!

Gosh, it's September already! And it rained today! And it didn't hit 100 degrees! These are all good signs for better riding, so let's plan a good get together for the end of this month. Thinking about heading back over to the Crawfish Place in Anahuac; that was some darn good eatin' !!

In!

Best burger I've ever had! I'm definitely IN!

What day/time and where will be meet to ride up?

If anyone want's to ride over with us, we can meet at the Exxon station, corner of Spencer Hwy. and Hwy. 146 south:

Not sure why Google is suddenly showing it as a Mobil station (maybe they're getting ready to change it to one?). It's about an hour's ride from there via the route through Baytown I've plotted, keeping away from freeways as much as possible, so let's plan to meet at 0930, kick stands up at 1000. Please post up if you are planning to join us so we won't be sitting around waiting. Thanks!

We're of course hoping the weather will be nice, so I'm also planning a bonus scooting tour of Anahuac if anyone is so inclined. Good way to relax after lunch, and it will only be about an hour loop at an easy pace.

I can't make the weekend due to work, but may ride over the Wednesday or Thursday before to check it out. Sounds like a good place.

I'm out. Came down with something and feel like crap. Ride safe and eat one of those honking cheeseburgers for me.
Well that slurps! Hope you get to feeling better soon, and no worries; I'll be sure to help you out with the cheeseburger :eat: Catch you on the next one.

Another great ride in the books! Man, weather was beautiful today, food was excellent, and of course the company was the best. Some gathered at the Mobil station in La Porte, then rode over to Anahuac. We stopped for a stretch at a cool little park off I-10

It had a little wooden walkway that stretched out to the water beyond, and since the level was extremely low, we were able to catch site of a rather large gator

As usual though, I was a real slacker for not taking many pics. We got there to find @William Wolfen and his lovely mom, Leesa already there, and had a table for us! Here's the only one I got of the group, but after @tdf-texas had already left (sorry, Tom).

No pics of the food either, so you'll have to just trust me; it was great! Heck, I couldn't even finish off the apple egrolls (with ice cream, of course)! I did manage to get one short video of the group though

Thanks to all who showed up, and hope everyone got home safe and sound. Hope we'll see y'all again on the next one!

Made it home safe and without any drama
Todays ride was awesome. Great peeps and great food.
177.9 miles D2D

Another good ride, thanks for putting this together @Rydah and @LowRydah! Starting to cool down some, so that added to the enjoyment. 186 round trip for me on the scooter makes this the longest ride on the little scoot to date. Got a flat on the way home but thankfully I was just a couple of miles from the house when I noticed. The bead didn’t break, so I nursed it home. During a quick look I counted at least three small diameter pieces of metal in the back tire, like maybe roofing staples or finishing nails

You know, when we stopped at that second boat ramp today, I was a bit worried because of all the trash on the ground, but it obviously didn't happen there. Glad it at least waited until you got home! New tires too, huh? Yeesh! Look around for who got a new roof.
