I wish I could say this was on a bike, but not this go-round. At the end of January my wife and I took a trip to Europe with our great friends. I just finished editing my pictures and thought I'd share some here.
We flew into Amsterdam and stayed there for 2 nights. Basically everyone in Amsterdam gets around on a bicycle. There are also 165 canals in Amsterdam. Combine those two things and you get bicycle fishing, which we observed one day.
We knew where our hotel was by taking a left when we got to the pink bike with the pink basket with flowers.
We took a canal tour late in the first day. Turned out to be a bad idea after not sleeping for over 24 hours, so it was nap time for me.
We took a long walk in the rain/snow to find this windmill.
After the Heineken Experience, we were thoroughly brainwashed.
Final coupe shots I liked from Amsterdam:
From there we drove down into Germany and ended up in Heidelberg for a night. After, what I would consider, the best meal of my life, we drove around trying to find a hotel for the night. We ended up finding a really cool place above town, that was close to the Heidelberg Castle we were planning to visit the nest morning.
As planned, we headed to the Heidelberg Castle the next morning.
We hit the road and headed down to Fussen. After finding a hotel we headed to the Neuschwanstein Castle to keep the theme going for the day. Photos are not allowed inside this one, so I always respect that.
Headed back down from Neuschwanstein Castle, we could see Hohenschwangau Castle, but it was to late for a tour of that one.
The next day we drove to Grindelwald, Switzerland, where we would be staying the next 3 nights.
We spent the next two days sledding, eating fondue and chocolate, and drinking beer. It was fantastic.
Here are some scenes from our hotel room.
And outside the hotel.

From Grindelwald, we drove back north to Ghent, Belgium. After spending 1 day there, we decided to stay 2 nights.
The next Day we toured Gravensteen (Castle of the Counts).
Then we walked through several churches and just around in general taking in the sites.
After that, we enjoyed amazing beer, where it all started.
We ended the day with a night walk.
The final day we had to wake up really early to drive back to Amsterdam to make our flight, but it was worth it for that last day/night in Ghent. Overall, it's a trip I'll never forget. So many great memories.
