February MeetnGreetnEatn...With a ride on the side

No, it wasn't mine. Back then I could rent a Yamaha 80 for a day. I spent a lot of enjoyable time on them. I didn't buy my first motorcycle until 1970. My daughter found that slide recently and I thought it would be fun to have it for an avatar.

A 1964 Yamaha 80 was my first bike, the same year I turned 14 and was able to get a MC license. Mine was red. I put a windscreen on it but broke it when I hit the goat.

I'm out. Got the estimate for fixing my broken car and that has prompted me to start shopping for its replacement. So the wife and I will be shopping tomorrow...pray for me please. :-) Neither of us like shopping for cars much.

I suggested a K1600GT, but she wants something enclosed with air conditioning and heat. Darn.

Good luck with that. That has NEVER been my favorite thing to do. Sorry we won't see you tomorrow. Take care.

I'm in. I'll be riding my Rockster. It will be nice to meet everybody. See you tomorrow.

...and now we are officially out.

We'll be in Bastrop to meet the boy for a birthday get together - just can't spend all day like we originally planned. :zen:

Uhhhh...fog? Who said anything about dense fog? These weather liars are a piece of work. lol I know the way, just can't find the road.

Just checked the weather for San Saba 77 for the high so we got that good warm spell everyone was asking for. KP

Yup. There is an incredible spread of high temps between the metro mess and San Saba. Over 20 degrees. I am dressed and waiting for a break in the fog. Patiently. O.K. Not so patiently. :(

Grrrrrr. 8:25 and I can't see more than 300 feet.

Sorry I'm out, been fighting a head cold and can't bring my self to put a helmet on for 4 hours today no matter how nice it is out. Hopefully next time.

I think I counted 31. Not bad at all. :)

Had a good showing today and some great weather. Kickstand, thanks for putting it together. We had a good time. Thanks!

Thanks Drew for putting this together! What a pleasure to meet and break bread with everyone and share the passion of motorcycling!

Thanks KP! I had a fun time meeting my TWTEX buddies and especially the after lunch ride to the local suspension bridges. I have seen neither one, so it was a real treat for me. We had a small URAL gas leak, but hopefully they made it home OK!

Here a a few cell phone pics of the bridges of Toko-Ri in San Saba. James Michener would have enjoyed them.

A big thanks to all that attended and joined us for rides to and from. I counted 29 riders this trip. Mother nature shined down on us and gave the motorcyclists a perfect day to ride. Hope everyone had a good time and got to meet at least one new member. I thank you all for making these meet and greets so enjoyable for me. Please post your pictures if you have any so we can all share in the moment. It was good to meet people in person that I had only talked with on line. KP

Hey Jeff S. What did you think of that hawk dropping down out the sky on Highway 16? I saw you looking back to see what it was.

Swoody, hope the carb issue on the Ural isn't a major problem.
