Fly-n-Ride, Tour de ‘Merica!

Tuesday night I met up with Aaron and @Tim Scholz and Wednesday we got some breakfast and headed out on dirt roads heading east. It was cool that morning, so we didn't get an early start. When we hit the town of Trinchera, he headed south on a great dirt road through a wonderful valley and into New Mexico and the Capulin Volcano National Monument.

From there we went into Clayton, grabbed some lunch and headed northeast to find one of the monuments that mark the location of the 3 states boundaries. We found this one and was preparing to seek out the next one, but on the ride out there we noticed Aaron's headlight was very dim. So we made a dash to Amarillo to avoid any low light riding and hit the hotel and the Saltgrass Steakhouse next door.

It was the last day from Amarillo to Fort Worth. And while the ending is bittersweet, my rear tire is on its last legs. I was a little concerned about making it home. But I made it without incident. So the "Tour-de-'Merica" really turned out to be a "Tour-de-Southwest 'Merica." At least for now. New chapter is being planned for the next stage.

Total so far. I set this a few miles from the house when I left back in January.

Great pictures. How Long are Aaron and Tim planning to be out?

I've been to Angel Fire multiple times... I didn't know that was there. Looks like I need to go back.
