Ok...its time to part ways with this Trippin Tenere. Ive had nuthin but fun ridin on this bike....but...Its been replaced...by a blue 14 Tenere.
I bought it from the first owner with about 16K on the odo. He did lay the bike down on its left side leaving his house for work...but Rumbux crash guards & Jesse cases were the only damaged items. I sold both of these to keep my finance charges lower since I was leaving my job at OReillys soon...& I use Givi luggage anyway.
The bike runs great...with the updates all 14 up models have. Updated clutch...camchain tensioner...ecm. No reflash needed on this one...smooth throttle...clutch.. &....the magic button...CRUISE CONTROL...
Previous owner changed oil & filter appx 3500-4000 intervals with Yamalube 10w40
Air filter & spk plgs changed at appx 12K
(bike now has K&N cleanable air filter)hi
Engine oil Ive used has been Lucas 10w50 Full Syn cycle oil along with either Yamaha or HiFlo filters changed at 10K mile intervals. The final drive oil is also Lucas syn marine grade 80/90wt.
I have found on my FJR & two V Strom 650s that 50K is perfectly fine for checking valves...the clearances are fine right now...the bike runs smooth...starts easily...& no valve clatter.
I checked the air filter recently & found it was pretty clean.
Brake & clutch fluid could prob be on the list for changing soon...mabe antifreeze too...& while youre at it...the final drive oil.
Front forks have had seals replaced in the last year to 18mos. Silkolene full syn 5wt oil used.
***The Touratech rear shock shown in pics stays with me***
But...you'll get a lo mile stock shock w/hd Hyperco spring installed... & the stock spring too.
Rear brake rotor & pads replaced at appx 35-36K. Front pads still ok. New in pkg Vesrah pads incl.
The tires are now like new Pirelli Scorpion Trail rear..& a Bridgestone A40 front
Not shown...
A Givi Monokey SRA2101 alloy rear luggage plate will accept many different sizes & styles of Givi & Kappa cases
The bike is otherwise pretty much as it came from Yamaha...I used all the farkles on my new bike. You may wonder why a 14 model is white ..not grey or blue...well..I switched the matte grey tank..fender & side panels with my prev 2013 Tenere which was this white. I also added the custom yellow Super Tenere decals. The right side rear cover I added is by Pyramid coated with removable dk sparkle black coating to match the other black panels.
LED running lights in headlight unit
Pics show the bike as it is... xcept now with the fresh streety tires
Priced to go....$5500 cash sale
TRADES...
2014up V Strom 1000
I took some new pics today 11-15
