Great River Road ride

A riding buddy and I am planning on heading over to Louisiana and picking up the Great River Road and head north. Has anyone ever ridden that road and before and have any suggestions? I have a pretty good idea of the route but would like to hear from folks that have done it before.

I have Only have been around the lower portion in LA - Ms and Ar. I would explore Natchez Ms for sure, Vicksburg National Military Park and Chicot State park. Tons of plantations along the way. Going over every bridge on the Mississippi River is on my bucket list😎
