Hello all. I’m glad to be a member. I’m new to riding. Bought a 2008 KLR a year ago. Finally got it road worthy with the help of OldTLS. I’m currently trying to find a bike for my wife. We are both looking forward to getting out on the road, meeting new people, and lots of (hopefully good) experiences.

Welcome to the fun, there's lots of folks here who can help you out with almost any bike related questions you may have.
Especially on a KLR!

Welcome Blackjack
Nice looking KLR
My son and I both have KLRs over in Goldthwaite

Hey! Good to see you on here, great place to have fun.....or meet up with folks to ride with.

Thanks for al the welcoming replies. Glad to see so many active members. I really like the KLR. We were going to get one for my wife as well. Instead I think we are going with a Versys 650. It should be a better fit for her.

My KLR is a salvage. Previous owner tore the front fairing and windshield to pieces. Also busted up the side fenders. I ended up buying a new fairing and windshield. Side plastics got a little superglue and fiberglass. Everything is wrapped in vinyl now. Looked good for a while but hasn’t held up to well.

Another member is selling a Versus 650. I don't know the seller, just sharing.

Just picked up a bike for the wife last night. 2008 Versys 650 with 2k miles. Untouched, unmodified. Included helmet, jacket, and stand.

I’ve got engine guards and a lowering link ordered. If they get here in time, I’ll install them this weekend. Hopefully get her riding soon after, weather permitting. 😁

Welcome from central Texas. There a good amount of TWTers that have had or currently own a KLR. Are you planning on doing any motorcycle camping? We do that here. Gives people time to get to know one another better.

I was just in Dublin last Sunday eating with my brother and shopping at a little Celtic store there in town. Make sure you sign up for a pie run or local meet and greet or slacker ride. Good ways to meet other riders from all over the great state. KP

Well...next time your in Dublin, stop by the Dublin Dog Den. That’s my wife’s shop. Just down the road from Things Celtic. We haven’t really thought about camping. We will likely start out with short day trips. Keep the bikes lite and manageable till we get more experience.
Where do I find out more info on the rides you mentioned?

Will do what does she sell there? Open Sundays? Go to the forum section and look at Upcoming rides. That will show you all the future events. KP
