Here I go again,

Well the cases are split and Dwight repaired them for $30. Need to dress the welds down a bit but everything lines up. Pulled the dynamo (generator) apart, it's a mess but parts are on order. It will need a new armature, field, bearings and brushes. Parts are on order, it is amazing how much stuff is still available for a 67 year old motorcycle.

Well I looked at it, but the rod costs more than what I paid Dwight at Granbury Welding so I'm ahead of the game.
Thanks for letting me know about this product but my welding skills are poor at best and I do know my limitations.

Well I purchased a set of fenders for the old girl. Advertised for 50's BSA C11's, no year no frame mentioned. Well they were wrong, way wrong, no surprise there but I was hoping that they would be close enough that with a little massaging they would work. The vendor accepts returns but the buyer pays shipping, it would cost me far more to ship from the US to India than to ship from India to the US. Contacted them and I can send them to a US address for a refund which is good. Lesson learned. Found a UK business that sells the front fender which is made in the UK not India. Two steps forward and 1-1/2 back.

Well all the nasty welds were cut off and ground down. Taken completely apart and sand blasted. Thank you Doug. My neighbor painted all the bits after I bought the paint, **** that was expensive. Had to wait for a +75 degree day to paint. Some parts need a bit of work before being painted.
Going back together a little at a time.
It's an adventure.

So, what does the paint look like now that it is finished? Am I going to have to ride up to find out?

Well the frame and the small bits have been painted. It is slowly going back together. Tomorrow it will be in the 70's and more parts will be painted.
Got some work done in the garage and had to put the BSA on a furniture dolly to move it out of the way.
Progress is being made.
We hope everyone had a great Christmas and the 2021 is a lot better than this year.
Doug, you are more than welcome here anytime.

Cheers
John ala Zonie

The last time it was over 70 Tommie painted a bunch of parts for the BSA. Good friend.

Looking good John, maybe I will get over there in the near future when it is kind of warm. Need to put miles on the 690.
