Sunday with the rain my cheap camera got wet and
laid down on the job. So no pics of the rain.

...Did you guys get many swimmers? I did that road a month ago while closed and it was a handful on the big bike loaded and solo. Did Hackberry Road yesterday with JMZ and all the water crossings were slicker than snot.

Danny I was going to say don't apologize your photos are great. But then recognized one pic and compared it to my thread last month. Wow big difference and mine is from a 2+ year old cell phone.

Samsung phones have long had better cameras than most other phones.

Nice pics Dannyboy, I see a lot of street type tires, how did they do?

Slip and slide on Sunday on the red dirt roads no matter what tires you had on.
The rain turned the red dirt into greased lightning.
Even my knobbies were sliding all around.

Man Down! Man Down! That was the first water crossing that I came to & went for a drink :haha: funny thing I wasn't even thirsty. I forgot I had a new tire out back plus I forgot to put my landing gear down  oh well fell down got soaked first thing in the morning and got it out of the way  I was good for the rest of the day :thumb: I did 402 miles on Saturday had to go home due to credit card issues. here I am back at work on Tuesday & all I can think about is the ride :rider: that's how much fun I had

Thanks for taking the pics , wish we could have joined yall. We left a day late and looks like we missed a lot of rain a lot of Pirates on the Sisters Monday

Yep, I posted my past ride pictures here. My Samsung is about five years old. I can only imagine how much better the next version of their smart phone will be...if it does not explode into a fireball due to a faulty battery.

:lol2:

Loved the HC 500, here goes my tale:

I arrived in Johnson City to find that Kubotamike had pulled out all the stops for us.
When I first pulled in I got to meet Mary, she directed me to the campsite. Mike had camping areas cleared, had a cooler full of ice cold beer and Topo Chicos and was starting a bonfire. He still took the time to give us a tour of the property and the river, it was beautiful.

I then set up my camp and got to meet some of the others staying there. Vinnie I already knew from the April Mexico trip and then met another Jorge, Dennis, Dan, RG. We hung out by the bonfire and had some drinks, talked. Mike was soon cooking for us and kept bringing out sausages as appetizers, later followed by burgers with all the fixings. With a full belly I turned in early to get some rest.

Let me reiterate what has been said. Kubotamike went way above and beyond the call of duty. He could have just given us a place to put up our tents; instead him and Mary were the nicest, most gracious hosts. It was great meeting them both.

Next morning we had the riders meeting, lots of bikes. We broke up into small groups and started to ride.

This was the most beautiful spot. It was right after a short but deep crossing. KLRs rule.

Lunch was at the Frio Canyon Motorcycle stop. One of these things is not like the others.

On our way to dinner, I was told this could be blackmail worthy material!

And some of our crew. Left to right: Wayland, Dan, Dennis, Mike, Jorge and Jorge. We had a great dinner at the YO Lodge.

My campsite for the night, at the Kerrville KOA. Since I had a roof over my head I didn't even have to put my tent up.

Our crew broke up after lunch and I ended up riding just with Kubotamike. We had a blast, because of all the rain we had so many fun water crossings. Great day. Once back in Johnson City I was wet and cold so Mike trailered me back to Austin. Best host ever.

Many thanks to Rich Trailboss for putting it all together and to Kubotamike for hosting us.

You slept in a gazebo. Hilarious and smart.
Thanks for the cigar.

Wait a minute. You all went to the Hill Country instead of going to the Lone Star Rally? What were you thinking???!!

Never to late to share pics and memories. Looks like your group had a good time at the water crossing.

Just put together a new video with footage that Kubotamike took of our group and, later, his and my water crossings.
All the rain made it so much better.

Looks like you guys had a great time. Is this a yearly trip? If so I'd like to get in on it next year. Does someone have a map of the route you all took, looks fun.
Thanks,

By the way, Mary and I have started on the new barn in Johnson City and look forward to hosting some more pre-ride campouts in the new year!
