Honda will introduce a "retro" version of its CB/ CBR at the Suzuka 8 Hours.

Here's a teaser image from Honda:

That sure does bring me back to the early 80s.
I agree, the color is a good retro to that time, with a modern "naked" look to it.
Then tank is very similar style to the older vs what newer bikes are.

Is it something I would like to have, yes, but it is not something I would just go out a buy.

The teazer bike would great in 1983 1100f colors.

Yeah, there is a big gap between the pipes and engine, I am sure there is a reason, but looks odd.
Maybe something to do with the cat? Nothing aftermarket can't fix. :)

Even the color scheme is remarkably similar to what I remember my friend's dad having. You couldn't get this color in the CB1100 then, only the 750. I had another 2 years to go and went down the Interceptor path.

That is a good looking bike even by today's standards always liked the rear fender style 👌

Yeah, the spoiler tail carried over into other models too, including my Interceptor. Honda made some exciting bikes back then. The CBX400F was also a really cool bike and only 350 lbs. And if I were bigger then, still a runt at 15, and knew what I know now, I'd have likely bought the XLV750 and started adv riding when there was a lot more adventuresome land close to home.

Yeah, I forgot that was a 750 only paint, but still sharp looking then and now.

Yeah, I am not a fan of the new skinny tails, if they could have made the tail and side cover a touch bigger (not 80's size, but something between then and what is shown) it would look even better. I do think they are pretty spot on with the tank though.

I think the current CB1000R would be fun for commuting.

OK, the more I see this, the more the header part of the exhaust bothers me. Just juts out too much.
At first I figured it was for oil filter access, but it looks like the filter is on the front left of the engine, out of the way of the exhaust, so it must be a performance reason (I am betting related to the cat and tube length).

The aftermarket will fix that.
