First point: This is a project. It's still got a lot of work that needs to be done to either make it your own or make it stock or whatever.
Second point: It runs and drives the wheel...it is not rideable, obviously. I went over the water pump and stator when I got it and they seemed to be doing exactly what they are suppose to be doing.
This GL500 came to someone who thought he was Macgyver. He cut up all the wiring to add lights, shorted something, cooked a bunch fo the wires, and parked the bike. I've got enough of the wiring harness sorted out to start it and you can build off that, but I'd strongly suggest finding a new harness. There are no bearings in the steering head...that's how the guy was riding it. There is no tank because it was stolen at one point or another. It comes with a nice Honda Ascot tank that I was really looking forward to using...it does not fit the GL frame properly, but fits the CX frame okay. Also, there's a CX frame, swingarm, and drive shaft. The CX frame is a little more sought after for the classic Cafe look, I had considered swapping everything over to the CX frame, just never got around to it. It is completely uncut, the GL frame has had the rear subframe removed.
I built a CX500 last year and it was a LOT of fun and has been an awesome ride and I wanted to do another one with this bike, but it just hasn't sparked that same interest and keeps getting pushed to the back burner. I'd rather work on another project.
Located in Lubbock.
Last picture attached is MY CX500, what I wanted to build another of...lots of potential in these things to really make something special.
$400 for the lot.
