here's an XR question.?

just went out to start the BIG-RED-PIG

and it started just fine . so i started to check all of the lite system's

and the rear brake lite don't work :eek2:

the running lite work's so i figure it's the bulb filiment

by the way it don't work also when i pull the front brake lever

so it's got to be the bulb.:coffee:

i have a WESTERN-POWER-SPORT's rear lite

stock bulb is a 1157 .........i can get a 1157 LED at the flying J truck stop

about $9.99 are any of you using a 1157 LED bulb's on yer XR's

also do ya think it will melt the RED len's.?

INFO HELP requested........

THANK's

LED's run cooler than incandescent bulbs. Your only worry will be if the bigger LED bulb will have clearance to fit under the lens. Also I doubt if a $10 LED will be as bright as the stock bulb. Last thing you want to do is decrease rear end visibility. I vote for a trip to Walmart or auto parts and pick up a standard 1157 for $1.50. Then research an LED bulb with higher light output for purchase and upgrade later.

Another brighter incandescent option is the 2357 bulb. But it is higher wattage so heat and/or wiring capability could be an issue.
The link below also shows a comparison with an LED bulb.

lonnie - i have the western powersports rear light too. i replaced the rear stock bulb that came with it, with the one in the pic below. it doesn't have a number on it, but it's plenty bright and works very well.

I was wrong that WESTERN-POWER-SPORT bulb
is a 12v23/8w bulb..:eek2:not a 1157 bulb
anyway when I took off the two nut's that secure it. the top stud snapped lose
from the plate and just kept on spinning.:eek2:
it was a pain in the :moon: to finally get it off :lol2:
don't ask me how but after it was removed i discovered
a real nice crack below the top hole about 1 full inch :thumbd:
right down the center,:lol2:on the stock fender.
SO i put the entire stock unit back on (thank god i keep my stock part's )
and i think it is easyer to be seen (by cage's)

FIDDYK thank's for your info...
you going to do the GONZALE's ride..?

What's wrong with this picture, besides all the dirt?

Don`t worry , we can fix this. My dads is a TV repairman, hes has an awesome set of tools .............................

:duck:

Is all that weight supported by that one spot where it broke ?

Edit: Yep, that's it.

The tools and tubes are going in the camelbak from now on. That rack is a nice piece of kit, but it's going on the wall as a reminder.

I know it's just a weld, but I lost what little momentum I had. I also became a painfully aware of how dirt this bird is.

That suckz pretty bad. Just the rack I plan to order, but this will remind me to keep the load light on it.
