Not sure how the person we bought this (Honda PCX) from got these risers on here, but I need to get to these Allen head bolts. Even my hex head bits are too long.

You may be able to use something like these ball end allen wrenches.
Or cut one of yours off to fit it

Thanks, but as you can see in my pic, they are too long. I'd hate to have to cut one for this, but might end up doing that anyway.

with the ball end, you can come in at an angle. It's hard to tell from the pic, but you might be able to get that in there.

Didn’t think abt this earlier but you could make your own Allen key on the cheap. Go to the bin section at Ace and get you a hex head bolt the same size and bend to the length you need

A ball end may not work if the bolts are really tight and would probably mess up the heads.

LOL, great suggestions all! As it was, I had a $15 Harbor Freight credit I needed to burn anyway, so as said, I just sacrificed my 6mm from my set, then bought another one... and a $50 retractable reel... since I was already there :-D. Great suggestion too on the bolt; that's some good thinking there :thumb:

Buy proper risers instead of those would be my suggestion. But I've never been a fan of those in the first place.

Bad design to begin with. The boss that's the same size as the handlebar should have been on the opposite side of the flat piece. The bolts would be easily accessible and the extra width between clamps would not matter.

Maybe the previous owner added the wrench to the toolkit. Something we all need to do.
Good Luck

Yep, thought of those too, but mine were too long. That's a nice shorter set, but even an inch would have been too much. It would have just fit into the space, but once turning out, it would have hit. The cut off Allen wrench worked; I was just hoping to find a new type of tool to add to my collection ;-)

Allen wrenches are cheap , bend , cut , whatever you want but then Im one to make any tool I need when I need it . I still have special bend wrenches for adjusting clutches in a catterpillar cable unit from the middle of last century .

Should have grabbed this while you were at HF.
8 Piece Right Angle Screwdriver https://share.google/ossFnIyMkyZunCLd3

Then also buy a bare allen bit made for a screwdriver. Would get you 95% of the way to tight as not HD enough. Last 1/2 turn or so use the allen bit with a wrench to get it torqued properly.

Yeah, but the problem is there isn't enough space in there; maybe just an inch. I had to cut the Allen wrench enough to make sure the backed out bolt wouldn't get it stuck in there as it came out. Thanks.

We could have used my acetylene torch and saved your wrench. There probably wouldn’t have been much left of the riser. :lol2:
