A common question I get from new members is how to start a new thread. It is really easy. Look over the list of forum sections and decide where you think your thread should be located based on the topic of your thread. For instance, if you are a new member and want to post an introduction, to see all the forum sections, just click on the "Forums" tab on the main navigation menu, then look for the Introductions forum section,

Click on the Introductions forum title and you will be taken to that forum section.

There are two ways to start a new thread, the "Post thread" button in the upper right corner or by clicking in the Quick editor bar at the top of the thread list,

The "Post thread" button will take you to the full message editor. Clicking in the Quick reply box where it says "Thread title" will open the Quick editor.

The only real difference is that the full editor has a few more options. If you are using the Quick editor, you can always change to the full editor by clicking on the "More options" button in the lower right corner under the editing box area.

Enter a title for your thread above the message editing box, enter your message, attach images or link to images if you like.

The icons above the message editing area can be used to add custom formatting and smilies. The far right icon that looks like a gear is a toggle that changes you back and forth between BBCode editing where you see all the tags and the what you see is what you get (WYSIWYG) editing. You can switch back and forth as many times as you like.

When you are ready, hit the "Post thread" button to submit your message and create the new thread. If you want to PREVIEW your message before posting it (highly recommended!), click on the "More options" button and there is a Preview button in the full editor. You can preview your message as many times as you like before you hit the "Post thread" button to submit it.

That's all there is to it. If you have any questions, just post your reply here in this thread. Look below near the bottom of the page when you are viewing a thread and you will see something like this (with your own avatar image on the left),

That is the Quick reply box and it works just like when you started a new thread, except that you don't enter a title since you are replying to an existing thread. To go to the full message editor, hit the "Preview" button. You can add images just like when you are starting a new thread.
