IBA Ride Around Texas April 20-22 2018

I've been wanting to do another IBA ride called the Ride Around Texas, or RAT ride. It's 3100 miles in 3 days. After kicking it around for a few months waiting on the right set of circumstances, I had an opportunity pop up for a long weekend after a business trip. My initial plan is to launch from Paris Tx at zero dark thirty on Friday 4/20 and finishing up on Sunday 4/22. There are 18 check points around the state, and the ride can be started and ended at any one of them. If anyone is interested in riding along, let me know, I can be somewhat flexible on start points and times. I'll post up the spot track and routing in case of any interest once it's settled. Let the riding begin!

I did that ride in 2013 with 5 of my buddies. We were all on Goldwings. We all got the certificate from the IBA! We started in Sherman at 5am. We did it in 75 hours I believe. The gold level is doing it under 70 hours. It is a hard but fun ride. Enjoy.

Timing the Bolivar ferry is important. Also from the east side of El Paso to Kermit is 230 miles I believe. We had to sit the cruise control at 60 to conserve gas.
