Kevin’s 2021 wanderings

Funny stuff, I can’t take it on a multi day ride because I am not going to carry the charging cord. But for single overnight, especially the grasslands, it might work.

Good thing I have a dct bike, so if I cut of my left hand, I can still get home[emoji23]

You wandering this weekend?

Had a camp out and hang out this weekend with my iron butt rally and Goldwing friends in Navasota.

South of normangee Friday about 3:30, the rain hit, I hit oil in the road going 70mph, bike went down, I slid about 100’.

My gear saved the day. No road rash! I would probably have a broke hip if it wasn’t for my klim lattitude pants.

Helmet never touched the ground. Had about 5 cars stop, one lady was calling 911. I said I am fine, just need some help picking the bike up.

One dude behind me said he thought I was dead when he saw how far I slid.

Bike never high sided. Finished my ride and did some of this

Dang. Glad you are ok.

I lowsided not too long ago and I was blown away at how well my Klim gear protected me as well.

Wow. Thank God for good gear and for enough room to slide without getting hit or hitting something solid.

Really glad you're ok.

My guess is you'll be plenty sore going home but you're a tough old dude.

Ps.....PSA, the brine they put on the roads to keep them from freezing back in February is really slick when wet. We rode down to Kerrville in March through some rain on our Goldwings and I have never lost traction on that bike and I lost it 3 times and a buddy lost it twice. Anyway...roads seem to be slicker in the wet than normal, or at least they did in March. Not sure if that stuff is gone now or not.

Thanks. Yep it was wild, had the cruise on at 70mph on a perfectly straight road and all of a sudden my back wheel is coming around.

Not really sore at all, the plastic knuckle protectors on my gloves, the right 2 knuckles was ground down 1/4”.

The klim pants have d3o pads on the hips, without that pad it would it have been different.

All kinds of things could have gone wrong. but the Lord continues to take care of this idiot[emoji41]
