Looking for something my soon to be 11 year old son can step up to. He’s been on an xr70 for a while, but he’s tall and it’s time to learn the clutch. Not sure an 80 is a big enough jump, you tell me. I’ve considered going Chinese, and I may still, but I’d like to try and stay Japanese if I can. Problem is, the 110s are rare as hens teeth and people think they’re made of gold. Feel free to text me if you have something interesting. Thx.

I don't have one to sell, but the next step up bike from x70 = bikes w/ 17" fr + 14" rr wheels.... TTR125, CRF150R, YZ85, KX85... all manual clutch.
Seat heights are in the ~ 30-32" range.

There's some manual clutch bikes that's sized like the xr70 (14" & 12" wheels) & ~28-30" seat heights: ...Suz JR80, KLX110-L, kx65, yz65(all new)

so depending on how tall & skilled your son is, he can go w/ either size....what's his inseam & weight?
 
He’s rangy. 5’, about 80 lbs. Loves to ride, but the cautious type.
 
I have a Kawasaki KLX140L that I'm considering selling. It was used by my son and daughter for a couple of years until they upgraded to bigger bikes. A few mods here and there but nothing crazy.
I'm in Conroe though. If interested, let me know.

The L has the 19/16 wheel combo, correct? How much were you looking to get for it?
 
no, the L has 17/14

bikes w/ 19/16 combo, aka super-mini, are KX100, CRF100F, TTR125-L, KTM105sx, CRF150F
with these bikes, your kiddo should already know how to work the clutch....and rr brake....except the CRF100F...this one's got the lowest seat, easy clutch pull, easy to ride thumper.

No, the L has 19/16 wheel combo. It's the non-L that comes with 17/14 setup.

oh, my bad....i mistook the klx140 for a klx110...yea, the 140-L has the 19/16 wheel combo

Very cool, congrats! Is there a thread on places to ride off road near Austin? Especially looking for places to get a kid started riding.
