Late 1990's Harley Springer Soft Tail Seat & Handle Bar Help

Monday 7/13, I am leaving Alamogordo New Mexico with my 89 year old Father In Law towards Big Bend & Lajitas for a family golf outing. Yep we know its going to be hot. Nope he didn't want to go in the spring or wait until fall.

Last year he had a local shop do some maintenance and they lost his passenger seat & back rest. Since then they have gone out of business and the building has been vacated. I would like to replace it for him and am just not sure what my best course of action. He is really attached to saddle that came on the bike new and when I search "Passenger Seat ..... " I am frankly overwhelmed/spoiled for choice to all the options out there.

So here is my questions on the seat.
- Keep searching for OEM replacement passenger seat & back rest... HELP!
- Just buy him a new saddle and rear seat set up?
-- Anything I should know about but don't on these seats? Will any soft tail saddle work?

For the handle bar, will my 1 1/4" ram mount u-bolt fit it? I want to mount my GPS on his bike for the ride more for me being a nerd than necessity. i'm getting conflicting information during my searching tonight. If he has normal bars sounds like I will be able to but if he has fat bars I will need a different u-bolt. I am not knowledgeable enough to tell by looking which bars he has.

If you're in Woden, Texas you might try Northend Cycle Salvage in Beaumont. They are a lot closer than Saint Johns, Florida.

BTW: It looks like the handlebars are 1" and your Ram Ball mount should Fit.

Most oem Harley bars, and Japanese cruiser bars (following Harley lead) are 1 inch, whereas most oe Japanese are either 7/8”, or 1 1/8” for ‘fat bars’. Hope you can locate a rear seat relatively painlessly, good luck.
