Let's see your very best photo

Some of the most spectacular pix I've seen. Nice work.

I am terrible at taking pictures these days. I used to take my SRT101 with me everywhere. I took these pictures on a recent blast to Torrey, Utah. Technically, these aren't very good. I can attest that the pictures I took with my aging eyeballs were much better than any I captured with my wife's digital SLR.

Here are a couple examples. Most of the pictures I took were on the Burr Trail.

This one was actually taken on the way home, before I hit the dust storms.

I had very little to do with it. The scenery out there is so amazing you could spend the rest or your life out there and never see it all. Not only that but it all changes depending on the light. The walls of that slot canyon were actually glowing red because the way the sun was hitting it. I could never get a picture that truly depicted the way it looked to the partially naked eye.

Couple of photos taken on a recent trip to Hyder, Alaska:

This is one of Lake Louise in the Banff NP, Alberta. Taken with a lowly little Point and Shoot:

This is the fjord at Hyder. Taken with my fancy pants Nikon.

OK - I'll play! I'd call this my current favorite instead of my 'best':

It's the aptly named 'chromatic geiser' in Yellowstone.

This is a "geezer":

This is a "geyser":

A limerick about geysers (with apologies in advance):

"The geysers at Yellowstone Park,"
I heard a park ranger remark,
"to save on the cost
of water that's lost,
are turned off whenever it's dark."

Lets see if I can get this pic posting process right!

Just a test mind you! Thanks!

Very good job! I have the same phone and it's very tough to do the higher contrast/half shadow shots with it. Did you do any editing of the photos or are those how they came off the phone?

Nope. I sent them straight to my smugmug right after they were taken. Just got lucky I guess. ;-)

You guys have probably seen this one floating around on a few other sites, but it is one of my all time favorites I shot while riding...

This is the first time I took a camera on a ride with me so it the best I have for now. Better ones will soon follow after my first ever road trip. This one was taken in the hills southwest of Abilene.

My Vulcan 2000 at the east end of Galveston island looking towards east beach.

So far this is my best photo yet, I think. Too bad it the sun wasn't shining.

Actually, overcast produces much more even lighting for photography, i.e. "better pictures"[no harsh shadows].
