I just came back on this sight after being way for awhile. What carbs do you have on the bike? If your carbs are all stock, no jetting or anything, remove the carb (s) drain the bowl and let any sediment fall out. Check the gasket for the bowl, if the carbs have not been opened up before , you may be able to reuse the gasket. Remove the bowl (s) and take out the pilot and main jet. Soak overnight in WHITE VINEGAR. Clean the bowl well. If the carb is stock you shouldn't have to adjust the needles in the slides. Clean the needle and check diaphragm for holes or tears. Make note of the main and pilot jet sizes, they are engraved on the side of the pilot and on top of the main jets for future reference. When you reassemble the carbs don't muscle down tightening the jets, just snug them in. Hope this helps even though it 6 months late!!
