Planning on going and camping at the Hidden Falls Adv Park. Won't get there until friday evening but should be able to ride saturday/sunday.

Local to Marble Falls, planning to meet up and ride on Saturday the 17th. Has a rally time and location for Saturday the 17th been established?

Ok, if you’re planning on joining us for Saturday, let’s meet at 7:30am at the HEB in Marble Falls: 1503 RM 1431, Marble Falls, TX 78654

This gives you a place to park a tow vehicle and trailer for the day if you’re hauling over, a place to fill up, and a place to get supplies for the day.

Itinerary & notes for Saturday’s Marble Falls ADV Ride.

Meet @ HEB in Marble Falls at 7:30am, geared up, fueled, and ready to go. We’ll have a drivers meeting at about 7:40am, make any final supply and restroom stops in HEB, and head out promptly at 8am. PLEASE DO NOT show up at 8am and try to jump in. I need you present at the riders meeting.

First stint is about 70-80 miles, 100% pavement, running from Marble Falls to Horseshoe Bay to Click to Llano for a 15 minute stop at Castell General Store. There is gas in Llano if someone has a small tank. Target time to pull out of Castell is 9:30am

Next stint is about 50-60 miles, passing through Mason and down to the James River. This section will be about 40% dirt/gravel. We will pull into the gas station in Mason to top off our tanks, but it won’t be a stop…..please don’t take your gear off, as our break stop is only about 20 minutes away. I received word that the James River crossing may be mostly dry, so we may get away without having to cross that slick slab. We’ll take a ~15 minute or so rest there and grab some pictures. Target time to pull away from the James River is 10:45-11am

Next stint is about 50-60 miles, is about 30% dirt, and will take us on some awesome roads north of Fredericksburg, through Crabapple, and into Fredericksburg. There is a high elevation spot around the Crabapple area where I would like to make a short stop and grab some pictures and take 10 minutes, but then we need to move on and get to Fredericksburg.

Lunch is at Hondo’s in Fredericksburg, and shooting to arrive by 12:30-1pm. It always takes longer to get lunch with a group, and everywhere in Fredericksburg can be busy on a Saturday in the Spring/Summer/Fall. There is a gas station a few blocks away if needed, but would like for us to all roll out of Fredericksburg by 2-2:30pm. I suspect some will break off after lunch, which is fine, but please let me know so we can reduce the headcount.

Final stint after lunch is about 60 miles in total, 100% pavement, and runs through the legendary Willow City Loop! We’ll ride for about 45 minutes and stops for a short break in Willow City (no fuel, restrooms, etc), before heading another 45 minutes or so stint back to our starting point in Marble Falls.

This will be a full day of riding, with a target finish time of about 4-4:30pm, barring any unforeseen issues. You’re free to drop off after lunch if you’re heading in a different direction, but please make sure to tell us if you do so.

Please bring a few snacks, and plenty to drink and hydrate often, as it will be getting hot.

Please make sure you’ve checked your bike and gear prior to joining the ride. Do that maintenance you’ve been meaning to do…..don’t be “that guy” who let his bike go and caused the ride to come to a halt.

Please make sure you have a backup/recovery plan in case you have bike issues.

Note that this is nothing more than a get together of motorcycle friends, and it’s NOT a formal organization with insurance, ride waivers, etc…..all liability for safety and damage and injury is your responsibility.

FYI I do require that everyone have navigation or a phone app up and running the route file in front of them for my group rides. This is both a safety and an efficiency issue. Please let me know if this is an issue and I will share some resources to get you up and running before we go.
