So Mextrek #11 was officially cancelled. So, um, we went to Mexico. "OG's" only. Well, there was this one guy David, not an OG. But he persevered. His steed made it home mostly in one piece!

Our last night in Mexico, Hidalgo, AKA Potrero Chico, the tallest climbing wall on earth, maybe. Will amazing setting for a $12 bunk bed.

Zacatecas was quiet and calming in the midst of covid. Cable cars are far less interesting than Taxi rides to **** and back, apparantly.

Everything is bigger in the Norte. Folks are taller, sidewalks wider, churches larger, pockets stuffed fuller. Mexico has so much diversity it's amazing.
IMG_20201106_133817.jpg

Our solitary bikes parked outside our Hacienda, on the corner. JD Dyess, yes the famous JD, joined us for a couple of nights of palling around. He's my new BAF (Best Amigo Forever).

A Texas style folk rockabily perfromance by Woody Price was even more entertaining cause of all the old stories of Opal Divine and Michael Parker in he Aaustin music scene. San Miguel is Gringolandia, but it is still pretty dang nice. A home away from home for weary travellers in the brush, lol.
IMG_20201104_205031.jpg

Reagan in the igloo. La Gruta, SMDE, is maybe one of my favorite chill spots in Mexico.

The DUDE will not just let them have his rug.

The views of GTO always make me smile.
IMG_20201101_130120.jpg

Such a silly pose in front of the ribbons hung for every first responder who has passed from covid. Had to smile our way through the uncomfortable truths hanging overhead.

Dang dudes ! Big balls ! Best photography on TWT.
Glad the trip happened.

Thanks Vinny. My $299 pixel 3xl takes nice pics! I discovered portait mode this fall....looking thru these pics really makes me want to be eating breakfast at the start of another Mextrek with my Amigos again soon.

The calm before the storm...this was a day...Only one garmin / spot retrieval deemed 'impassable, you are on your own". Somebody slept in a shack in old Mexico. Again! (Not ThomasM for the record).

Sometimes you gotta endo over the back of an SUV to add to the excitement (I'm no snitch, right Sean?). Or spill a crate of apples (Dao).

We had a bad crash last year. Reposing the photo taken just before. Guys like Jarred, Alan, and Reagan pull their own weight x 2. True OG's. Overlooking the dry dusty and apparently extremely confusing tiny town of Laguna de Sanchez.

Hanging with Woody Price, SMDE musician, Austin Transplant, and former limo driver for Jerry Jeff Walker. His performance was as much talent as incredible Texas storytelling.

Zac cathedral. It's a cool grand colonial downtown. Even cooler when the hip jazz bar has a door that accesses your Airbnb bedroom.
