I remember doing that ride. I think a few of my teeth rattle loose. We got up there late in the day and it was COLD but that picture looks even colder.

Hope y'all enjoyed it.

Looks like anoter great trip ! The rain put me a couple weeks behind schedule so I missed a great ride ! Did the rain bother you guys this year ?

I cut my ride down to 3 days in Galiana, so here's some pics to add to this ride.

Naw, that quick detour was nothin....just a shake down for what's in store for the following week.....shiddd...Sean's got a heavy wrist...that poor 701 of his had to endure some crazy gnar!

Next day, I hooked up w/ 3 dirtbikers...

right off the bat, yea buddy....let's get the show on the road!

If you come out of this trail

and see this sign...then you know you rode one bad mofo especially on a 'strom(w/ a 12k mile rr tire). i lost 10 lbs sweating my***off.

For lunch, we stopped at same diner I took in yesterday. But it was closed

so lunch here was a bag of chips and a soda

From there, we raced our way back to Galiana

dinner here

kept it simple...

The next morning, I hooked up w/ Justin (CB500x) and we made record breaking time back home. ..record breaking time!

I think that'll hurt future ride participation. I for one was sucked in by all the cool ride reports on TWT.

Same here. I'm dreaming about getting my bike and myself ready for one of these one day.

yea, there was a few spots where I wished I shoulda taken my 400 instead, but it felt great to be on the Strom. The road portion is truly LUXURIOUS, w/ the hwy pegs and that fat wide seat and smooth motor. I did mention that we broke a record pounding pavement back to TX, right? That's the reward for riding a twin cyl to.fr Galeana.

Next time, tho...my 400 will come out to play.

I plan to trailer her all the way to.fr Galeana.

If I'm not mistaken (and I OFTEN am) there are some serious logistical barriers to trailering a bike, or transporting one in a pickup bed, into Mexico. I believe the TVIP process restricts it, or at minimum, makes it far more difficult. Perhaps if you have two people and one isn't bring a bike it would work.

I'll let others fill in here. Just don't want you to make assumptions that won't work.

As 3/4 of the Riders are still on the ride it makes sense that this thread is light. If you are one of the folks who posted about WhatsApp and the impact on two-wheel Texas or about the lack of posting in this thread, could you please edit or delete your post so that this stays of a positive thread about mextrek #8.

We use WhatsApp constantly during the trip for Logistics, lost Riders location, reservations, keeping loved ones at home apprised the progress, etc etc etc.

Every Rider on the trip has made a commitment two two wheeled Texans to post a ride thread, short or long, because we all recognize that two wheeled Texans is the medium that brings us together and keeps us connected. And also that feeds our sport and passion

The funny thing about posting this is the last try I made two post very similar information would not go through. I hope this one does. There's a reason WhatsApp has 5 billion users, many in third world countries.

Great trip, though had to cut it short and head back Tuesday. Took the KTM 500 this trip and had some fun on the trails.

Dao, the problem with trucking a bike into Mexico is they only allow one licensed vehicle per permit and one permit per person. You can bring an unlicensed bike, but then you can not get liability insurance for it. I probably will not do it again.
