It worked, I'd have brought steaks if plans had worked out, but we have to adjust, I was thankful for something to eat, much appreciated.
I rode around in the Grasslands last Friday & saw the smoke too. I ran into a gal who was a Forest Ranger & the were doing a controlled burn in several areas that day. You could see it from 35 miles away in Bolivar.You can see the smoke in background

I really enjoy riding around that area exploring all the county roads outside of Decatur. Sometimes I'll ride in to Greenwood for a burger at the Country Store, but lately I have been stopping at The Burg in Forestburg. Not much atmosphere but their burgers are really good & way better than the burger you can get at Greenwood Country Store or the Forestburg Country Store.

I will have to try out the burg. We ate breakfast at Greenwood.
