Looks like they have scheduled a race in Austin Oct 1-3. I have gotten interested in MotoGP this year, what can I expect from attending a race? I signed up for notification when tickets go on sale, is there a mad rush to buy tickets online, limited number, etc? I assume hotels will be booked up but I am ok with staying in Columbus or someplace less glamorous and a ways out of town.

Finally, any interest in a ride to Austin from the Houston area and/or meet up at the race?

Rockdale and Hutto have hotels. Hutto has a nice one. San Marcos or New Braunfels may be good options as well. I have camped at Circuit of the America's three times. I like it but it can be a hassle and not cheap.

I’ve camped each time I was there. If anyone plans to camp, find a spot away from the RV generators.

We're going for the first time and camping in Lot N. Any other tips like best times to arrive? We are solar-powered, so I will try to avoid the mega-coaches with generators. I hope it's cool at night.

For those who haven’t gone…. Go! At least once! This does not compare to Barber vintage or Indy GP.

I mean this in a positive way… go into it with a casino mindset with as much cash as you willing to lose. It “can” be expensive and worrying about expenses can get in the way of experiences that awaits you. You might even leave with a Ducati because they are so **** easy to park there.

Pre-covid there were all types of vendor booths and things to do that’s fun even without the race. Their schedules should be available online.

At night there are bands, fellow campers, parties, bikes, more bikes, more parties …. and if you are a people watcher… my god!!! Folks from around the world are there. From skinny jean european dudes and super models to… ummm… me.

Austin’s 6th street is down the road a bit. Mexican restaurant on the back road behind the track. A convenience store at one of the entrance that will become your friend.

Oh, bring a poncho, small binoculars, a chair with a shoulder strap, a clear water bottle with a hook, thick wool socks, and some small snacks.

Sorry, I’ve been there a few time and get a little talkative thinking about it.

The chair is a must if you watch from the grass area. I bring one of those clear ID things that go around the neck. They scan your ticket like a hundred times over three days. I try to be near an outdoor huge monitor on Saturday for qualifying. A program is great to keep up with rider numbers and race times etc. They were 10 dollars in 2020 and well worth it. You can forget hearing the announcer. The sound of the motto 2 and GP bikes is great. This may be the last COTA race for #46 or there are rumors and even he is talking about his future. I say he rides for Ducati next year. :).

Also be sure to see Handbuilt Motorcycle Show. See Revival Cycles (.com) for details.
I have been twice and love it. Wish they would have it another weekend. Just too hard to park re-park at track and I look at practice and the venders on Friday and Qualifying on Saturday.
Where is hand built M/C being held this year, year?
Remember like three years ago they had the flat track race Saturday night. That added to the fun.
