Motorcycle Bragging Rights - Brand Loyalty

I have owned a lot of Hondas, 3 KLR’s, 2 Buells, 4 Triumphs in a row, and now a BMW R1150GS concurrently with my last Triumph a Tiger 800XC. I like Harley Davidson and BMW customer support so those pretty the two brands I foresee owning in the future and probably not Harley dues to expense and already went through my cruiser phase. So yeah only BMW in the future.

No brand loyalty per se...

Currently in the Garage:

  1. Suzuki GSXR750 for race/track
  2. Honda Goldwing for sport touring
  3. Yamaha XT1200Z (Tenere) for Dual Sport/ADV
  4. Yamaha YZ426F for dirt fun
  5. Kinda mine, but not really... My daughter's first "big bike": Suzuki SV650
  6. Also, still have that Yamaha Zuma 50F hanging around too
I will say that I'm fairly loyal to Honda Goldwings for 2up touring. Don't think I'll change on that anytime soon. Goldwings have been in my family for years.

I have owned Kawasaki, Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki and a Bridgestone 90. In my younger days it was a Honda SL175 and then a n XL250 that got me through high school and work in the 70s. Then I bought a new '78 Kawasaki 650, then an 81 KZ1000J, then a 96 GPZ (ZX1100E). in those years I owned a VF750, FJ1100 and a 1200S Bandit. My best bike by far was my 81 KZ1000J. I put the most miles on my GPZ, 100K. Right now I would say my brand loyalty is Kawasaki. I currently specialize in Kawasaki ATV/UTV products in my shop.

I came to BMW in 2000 from Goldwings (3). Thanks Robert K!
I have put 494,000 miles on the 4 BMWs....2 K1200LTs and 2 R1200RTs.

I am a total BMW person now and yes I do have BMW poster and a clock in the garage.

My favorite color is Kawasaki green, most of the dealers I don't like. I like my H-D mostly because it is simple to work on and the dealer actually stocks most of the parts I've needed for it. I like the Triumph because I haven't had to wrench on it yet. Either of those may convert me in time, we will see. I am eyeing another Honda now, just don't want to deal with another **** dealer.

I am shocked at the number of bikes here. In 15 years I've had one each of a Suzuki, Honda, Triumph and now an Aprilia. That's it. And the Honda I bought to fix up and flip...(and i only lost $1000 doing so!)

I hate selling bikes, because I don't like dealing with people. It is easier to just run the bikes into the ground. Disclaimer on my number-for awhile KDX200's were so cheap it was easier to buy another used one than to source the parts to rebuild the engine or bother with splitting the cases.

How many bass guitars have you had... :ponder:

The amount I've spent on music equipment over my lifetime makes my motorcycle purchases look like a penny in the fountain

I have had a little over 30 bikes since 1969.
Don’t remember them all, but remember these brands:

Bridgestone
Yamaha
Suzuki
Honda
Harley Davidson
Kawasaki
Triumph
BMW

The one I have had the longest – 14 years and still have it. 2005 BMW 1200RT

I've had:

1971 Honda Trail 90
2006 Yamaha XT225
1999 Honda Magna 750
2005 Victory Vegas 8-ball

So 2 Hondas, a Yamaha, and a Victory. The only bike I have left is the Victory, though I am in the market for a Trail 90.

I know a certain KTM fanatic that can FINALLY add BMW to his list !

I'll let him spill the beans though :-P
