Came here to see if I needed to rejet my new Suzuki DR650 when I spend the summer in Ruidoso, which is 7,000'. Already found out, stock should be alright.
Last yr I had a Kaw KLX 300 SM with fuel injection and it ran fine. I traded it for something bigger and more pep. I mostly ride it back and forth to pickleball and errands.
When we go to Ruidoso, we take side trips to Lake Powell, Durango, Silverton, Ouray, Red River etc......... so i think I'll enjoy the bigger bike.
