Welcome to the site!

I have emptied my garage of all the gear we no longer use. It was donated to another TWT member some time ago.

Basic dirt gear for kids is not real expensive even if you buy it new. Of course, you can blow a LOT of money on gear, but you don't have to ;-) You can find suitable helmets for $50-100, elbow and knee pads for $15-25, and gloves for $10-20. Boots might set you back the most, but even those can be had for around $100. I would not wast time with jerseys and pants. Just put the kid in jeans and a tee shirt with the gear I just mentioned. That will do fine for 90% of the riding unless you plan to get into racing. I think I spent $200-250 buying gear for each of my kids. I even paid full retail at a local bike shop since they spent so much time helping me find what I needed.

Here are some pics from years ago of my kids riding that will give you an idea of what I am talking about for gear. It started real basic when they were little, the helmet being the most expensive item. They wore regular "cowboy" boots. I got them real dirt boots later. As they got bigger and started going faster, I started buying better gear.

Thanks for the info bud I’ll try and keep a lookout for deals in my area on Facebook just really hard to come by boots I didn’t feel like buying new ones but I might have to
