Sorry, didn't see a post for this ride.

Been waiting for the weather to cool down to see more rides.

I ride religiously every Sunday, So just hit me up. Lately Dao joined my Sunday rides and I have a bunch of hoonigan friends that think Midweight ADV bikes are dirt bikes that join regularly.Sunday we are probably going back to Bastrop then I will probably start with the regular rotation I was doing during winter and spring. Lago vista-Bastrop-Hidden Falls and Lets ride Ranch

All those natural pine needles scattered throughout the trails...

Still waiting on getting a smaller bike to join these rides. Some day!

Maybe the next time a large group is out at Lago, you can move that tree that fell over the trail that is basically at the bottom of the powerline. Once you cross the little creek, go through the woods and then do the uphill to the street. It's on that uphill. I tried clearing some of it myself but it's too much work for one person unless you have a chain saw....

We that did yesterday

Did a morning ride at Lago today. Thanks to the gents who cleared the fallen tree. Smarter than me. I was thinking to move it instead of basically tunneling under it. Glad the temperature is starting to fall.

oh that "tunnel" has been there for a while, we just pushed a branch out of the way. There was a tree after that on the straight part that some of the guys pushed out of the way.

15 years ago I used to ride Lago every Saturday morning. I had just bought a XR650L and was just learning to ride. Especially off road. After getting a CRF250X I started riding City Park/Emma Long every Saturday. I hadn't ridden Lago for 7 or 8 years until recently. I went both Saturday and Sunday this weekend and really started exploring all the "new to me" cut trails as well as finding some of my old favorite trails. One of my old favorites went down into a valley and then up again. It was clear that no one had ridden that in a long time as I was going down to the bottom. When I got to the bottom, the trees were so over grown, I had to turn around. Did some more exploring in an area that I rarely had gone to when I found the coolest single track that someone must have set up. All marked off with rock stacks and probably the most fun trail I've ridden at Lago. It's been great to get out on the trail again to work on retraining some of my balance post Covid that is not as challenging as Emma Long nor expensive as Hidden Falls.

Used to be narrow but somebody cleaned it and marked it about a month ago. I believe they had a mountain bike event. Its a nice trail but it tends to get busy once weather get cooler. You will see people walking their dogs and stuff.
The trails next to the fire station and the highschool ? Those used to be narrow and more rough but someone cleaned it and marked them about a month ago for a event. It tends to get busy with hikers once temperatures get on the 70s

I tend to stay away from the fire house, high school and ride the area that is mostly between that and the water pump. As best I can, away from anyone who might complain about being out there.

It's kind of funny how a number of the single track trails I used to ride are now all overgrown. You can't get in between the trees and any visibility of a trail is gone but there are a ton more 4 wheel trails out there from when I first started riding out there. I went down "Tom Hill" for those who remember that for the second time. There are a couple water trenches going down that have gotten pretty deep and I almost went over the top of the handlebars. It basically goes down the steeper side of the top of this, looking in the direction of the lake. More to the left as you're looking down from the 4 wheel burned in track that is more to the right.
