We ended up with 5 riders, 3 tips over’s, 1 crash, new friendships and lots of fun.

We rode mostly pavement from Bandera to Camp Wood, then south on TX55 to CR408, we rode to an old WPA dam near the end of CR408 where we had two tips over one resulting in a broken clutch lever. After a noble repair effort we rode back out to TX 55 and made it about one-mile to the turn off to RR334 when one KLR cut the corner too tight and went down. One bent crash bar but the rider popped back up and was ready to go. Good riding gear saves more lives than load pipes.

We then hit the Nueces River Rd off on 334 and rode it around to Tularosa Rd.

From there we headed back to 55 but found a neat road that went up and down the hills to the south of 334 and rode it until we reached a dead end.

Back on 334 we turned off of CR407 and rode it to the end at the Nueces River just above Chalk Bluff.

Then it was back up 55 to Camp Wood to get checked in the motel.

We had a great dinner at Holy Smokes BBQ then returned to the motel for bench racing.

Sunday started a little misty and one rider short as the bug he got Saturday afternoon didn’t clear up and he headed home, we headed for Cedar Creek Rd (CR350). We rode that around to White Mtn rd and came out on TX55 just south of Rocksprings. While gassing up / getting some water in Rocksprings we discussed the route, we had planned on going down Hackberry Rd but decided against it as we were all tired and the Saturday faller was a little more hurt than he thought with bruised ribs.

So we took RR336 down to Leakey and of course had a great time on that fantastic road.

At Leakey we took the Rio Frio rd to 1050 and on to Utopia where the post ride banquet has held at one of the rider’s homes on the banks of the Sabinal River.

Then it was time to head home; the group rode to Tarpley then split into two groups for the last miles.

I was on the sisters this weekend, gased up at that Texaco a few times.

Dang, that KLXS is sure a good looking bike! Overheard a couple guys once wondering who made it....

Wish I could have got away for this ride, hope you do it again before too long!

This was a fun ride (arent they all) thanks sander for leading the way , thanks bill for your hospitality.:rider:
