RIDE TO EAT: Pie Run: Koffee Kup Hico 1/31/2026 (Official)

This will be the 21st annual, right? I came to one of these Koffee Kup pie runs in 2010, IIRC, and I'm pretty sure it was the fifth annual. I think my wife and I were on our way to Waco or somewhere and it just worked out that the pie run would be happening, so we arranged to stop by. It was bitterly cold and pretty wet that year. I remember it being something like 19 degrees early that morning. Still, there were lots of people on bikes, which was impressive. I also remember that there were well over 100 TWTers in attendance and it kinda overwhelmed the diner. Fun memories.

Have a fun first pie run of 2026. :rider:

Jeff,

We are going to try and bring a few from the East Texas club. I will post expected numbers that week.

You can put us all at a table in the back or in the corner or outside, where we won't bother folks with our beemer-talk.

Back in the 90's, there were 3 Dave's hanging out together, so I started using my middle name. When someone said "hey Dave" and all 3 of us responded it was utter chaos! well, not really. I came up with "Not Dave" because I used to ride with a group that had another Dave that was frivolous with traffic laws, so I kept saying I'm "not that" Dave to differentiate from that other guy. Not Dave stuck. Now at work I have a different nickname but won't get into that.

Too late now to change my name here, been over a decade.

In the past I've used blue painters' tape and a Sharpie to make a nametag, that's very KLR-ish.

JT and I are IN!
Just made reservations at Meridian State Park for Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. We'll ride a 2-3 hour dual sport loop Saturday afternoon and another longer loop Sunday. I'll get to work on the tracks and post them asap.

edit:

So, here's what I have so far. We'll do an easy 32 mile track from Meridian State Park to The Coffee Cup in Hico, then an 82 mile roundabout return to the park. First north toward Glen Rose then south. I do not know how much of these tracks will be dirt.

“I don’t need to know that you can’t make it or are thinking about it or might make it or if it depends on the weather.”

Looks like reading comprehension is not a strong suit for a few people here. LOL
I was trying to figure out to give half a thumbs up for the 1+maybe.

What time are most people arriving roughly
Last month pie run I ordered my pie before my meal, I was correct in guessing due to the big turnout, they would run out of pie 🥧, just saying, rise and shine ! ✨

In my case when attending the Hico pie run one year, the early birds got a pleasant surprise. The first fifteen riders in the door were given a free KKC sweatshirt. Everyone enjoy the run. Glad to see the tradition continues.
