What:
Traditional & popular Pie Run destination

When:
Saturday, February 28, 2026
11 AM

Where:
Sam's Original Restaurant
Fairfield, TX

Please post when you know that you will make it so I can give Sam's the courtesy of a head count.

I do not need to know that you can’t make it or are thinking about it or might make it or that it depends on the weather.

Just tell me, “Yes,” and how many will join you well enough in advance so I can let the restaurant know.

I look forward to seeing everyone for what has historically been a fun and well attended event.

Been to this once a decade or so ago. It was packed with 40-50 bikes!

Good luck with that! :-P

I will do my best to be there ;-)

Aw man, I miss Texas & I love Sam's. Y'all should come up here for a pie run. We're getting warmer weather this winter than you are.

Not a lot of luck involved. I’m not counting “maybes.” I guess folks who can’t be bothered to RSVP can show up anyway, but that’s neither cool towards nor respectful of the establishment hosting us.

The luck part is getting people NOT to post the maybes or not coming responses. Nothing to do with counting them ;-) Some people just feel compelled to let others know they are not coming

Copy that. It is an odd trait.

I spoke with another TWT’an, who used to do an amazing job of scheduling and planning a full calendar of Pie Runs.

He gave it up because 100 people would say they were attending and only 10 showed up or 10 said they’d be there and 100’would show up. Either way, it was frustrating enough to stop him from hosting.

I’m trying to avoid that fate and keep my administration effort as low as possible. Also, some of us are all busy and I don’t have the time or desire to keep a tally of, “no’s” and “maybe’s”. Plus, this may sound harsh, but we just don’t need to hear from those who aren’t going.

Thanks,
Jeff

Hmmm, mighty powerful words, sir. Tempting fate?
I hope I don't jinx it (again)...

TBD. Often, it comes down to what I feel like riding that day or which bike is overdue exercise. The RS is always in the mix, though. Will you be on your RS? Did you get your new wheels?
