Great day for a ride stopped in Corsicana for a RTE-USA challenge photo . Made a pass by airport to see if the CAF wing was opened it wasn’t . After lunch rode to sidecar company in Teague I thought they were having open house today . If they were it must have been at their old location in Donie . Took different route home for 376 miles today . Thanks Jeff for keeping the pie run going .

Fun day riding . Odds of riding two Saturdays in a row but both ended with 343.8 miles total. Couldn't pull that off again in 1000 years .

Picture perfect day for a ride and Pie. I got to visit with a few people I haven't seen in a quite awhile.
No pics as I left my phone and wallet at home. My riding buddies took good care of me covering my gas and lunch today. 349 miles for the day.

Our 80 mile hiway jaunt on 84 to 73 at Prairie Hill then Coolidge & 171 to 27 got us to Sams waaay early at 10am...so I had the brkfst buffet...then visited while everyone else had the lunch buffet.
I think it was about 1230 when I pulled outta the parkin lot for my solo afternoon excursion.
No map showin my route...jus road #s. Youll hafta look up the roads mostly between 84 & 79 from Butler & Red Lake down to Oakwood.
From Fairfield...75 south to Freestone CR496 & FM1580 S to FCR510 & 445 bac up to 84 then E to FCR360 (I really like this loop) across Red Lake dam to FM489 & S to FCR300 & 333 then N on 301 & again on 300 Bac up to 84. I was almost to Oakwood on 333 & 301...but there was still the roads up at Butler.
From 300 across 84 on 298 then 296 & 290 to Lone Star Church....280 along the Trinity River for a bit following up to 275 & 271 to the end of FM489 at Butler. Bac toward 84 off of 489 left on FCR261 & the really interesting intersection with 301 (look it up on Google Sat view) Took 301 down across 84 all the way to Oakwood 321 & a break at the store there.
All these CRs so far hav had decent ?pavement. Not quite as good as we have on the black dirt around Waco with the heavy farm equipment causing wear to the surface. But some are better than others (watch for loose ?pavement in 90 degree corners...especially Summer time when the ?pavement gets loose from heat)
South from Oakwood on 79...The last road was FCR340 bac up to FM489. This road is a pockmarked piece for sure. Weave bac n forth avoiding the holes n loose bits. It does get a bit better closer to 489. From there it was a mix of highways FM1953 1245 & couple of CRs (421 420) while hedded west to la casa. I threw in Battle Lake Rd & Hall Rd jus ta keep off of 164
Appx 240 miles total...160 aftr lunch
& to whoever covered my bill at Sams...BIG THANX!

Great Sunday afternoon yesterday. The wife and I cruised up from New Braunfels to Startzville to eat at the Startz Cafe. We’ve tried it for both breakfast and lunch. Great place.

I'd say the Pie Run was a success! I counted 18 folks around the table. Sure, that's not the attendance numbers we used to have, but if we added folks who might have been there if not for the regional EOM rides, we would have been close. We had several Pie Run Pro's in attendance. They grabbed their pie slice either before or with their main course. One hero, ordered two slices of pie!
If you didn't ride on Saturday, I just don't know what to tell you other than you missed what will go down in history as one of the best riding days of 2026.
