Thanks to all who helped with my flat. I made it home without incident. When I stopped to put in more air at Canton . . . the chuck wouldn't bend enough to get on the valve stem. But everything felt rock steady, so we slabbed it back into the MetroMess. I felt it start to get a little squishy as I turned onto Denton Hwy. (about two miles from the house). Thanks also to Tim and Chuck and whoever else it was who escorted me. Who was the other one, Chuck? Sorry you guys gave up your nice back roads for boring I-30. Looks like I'll be spooning on a new tire soon.
 
Hmmmm. . . maybe the avatar of my boots was an omen . . .
 
430 miles later, I'm home. 104 degrees coming out of Waco, but it was great to see everyone again.

You made good time getting home. We took the scenic route (read slow) and didn't get home until 4:15.
 
I rolled in around 3:00 and was glad to get home..
It was nice in the morning, but hot returning home. If my GPS had not got lost, I would have been home sooner.:rofl:

All in all, a good ride, and I got to meet some people and see some places I had not seen before. Not a bad day for late in July..:sun:

I do wish the Shed had put on some extra waitstaff. One person taking care of the back room was not enough..
 
The heat really wasn't too bad until we got into Dallas urban freeway driving. It soared then. I pretty much drained my Camelbak.

I had a blast riding with Kurt up and back. Always good to see old friends and meet new ones too. Reeces pie was worth the 470 miles. :eat: That 103*F extended to South Austin as well.

RedPill glad my little pump got enough air into you tire to get you home.

Mike split from Robin and I after lunch and headed back to Richardson. Robin and I went south down through Jacksonville, Rusk, and Palestine before turning back toward Dallas. In other words one of our normal round about 240 mile routes to go 100 miles :rider:.

I enjoyed meeting with all you folks including a few new ones that I hadn't met and of course I enjoyed the Buttermilk pie.

Very glad you made it home without further mishap. :zen:

Charles was wanting to get to 360 and I wanted to just blitz home, so that worked out just fine.

My thermometer (which I can't read without getting off the bike) read 105 when I rolled onto the patio at home... :giveup:

The ride TO Edom was cooler and more pleasant. We started with 5 riders in Arlington, picked up 4 more in Ennis and one more along the way (prior to Ennis I think).

First time to meet Charles, I hope he replies so I can remember his screen name! :doh:

Overall a great day in July in Texas! :sun:
 
I was one of the 4 ya'll picked up in Ennis, I believe..
Hot is a good word for the return trip, was dehydrated when I got home.
I need to get moved into my new house soon.. Everything is packed up including my Camel Back.

Glad to have had the time and bike running to make the trip again.
Good to see the familiar faces and meet some new ones.

We found Bob and company on the ride back out to Ennis, no pics, but they were hanging around waiting on a trailer.
I will let hiim fill the rest in. ;-)

big turn out on a hot day, my new little baby girl was wondering what I was doing up so early.

we got there pretty early and there was already a pretty good crowd already I got back outside after having a slice of secret "not on the list" peanut butter pie (good to be pie master! :mrgreen:) to get a bike count

many bikes that were there when I went inside had already left but I don't know if they were part of our gang or not. I still managed to count 90 bikes including one exotic rare Yamaha GTS1000!

if you don't know about this bike you need to google it and read up on it, introduced here in the states in 1993 and only sold here two years (bad economy and a high price killed it) it was a technological showcase of what Yamaha could do, and the fork less front suspension is still to this day more advanced than anything on the road.

there was also a trick German road rocket K1600GT hiding out back.

it was great seeing everybody especially Scott's return to the pie run Circuit!

unfortunately Beemer Bob is still not on talking terms with his ill tempered Russian mistress :lol2:

I took a nice 2 hour ride at 0630 out to Llano and back. I just find no enjoyment riding when it gets over 90 degrees. I guess people up north park their bike a few months in the winter, I just ride in the AM in the summer...I will get back on the pie runs in the fall....
 
Tim, that is interesting, several weeks age a co-worker sent me a cell phone picture of a yellow and black strom in traffic in Arlington. The thought it was me. Must have been your friend.
 
This was my first Pie Run with TWT. It was hot but had a great time riding with my friends and meeting new one's.

Thanks to all who set up the Pie Run.
