Please pray for my Dad

Praying for your Dad. Becky and I saw your Mom and brother at Whataburger, had a nice visit.

:tab Well, hopefully he will get to come home later today. His resting blood oxygen level is 98%. But as soon as he gets up and starts trying to get around, he gets light headed REAL fast! So he will be using an oxygen concentrator for a few weeks at least. Doc says it might be 6-8 weeks before a full recovery. The good thing is that if he can walk the 100 feet from the house to the office, he should be good to return to work. It is a desk job. Just having him here to handle phone calls so we can stay on top of the work would be a big help.

:tab Well, he's home and definitely looks better. He's got small oxygen tanks he can carry in a satchel with a shoulder strap for walking around outside the house or if he goes anywhere. He's got the big concentrator to use around the house or in bed (in conjunction with the CPAP machine). Hopefully a few nights of good rest in his own bed without people poking and prodding will make him feel even better. He plans to be in the office tomorrow morning. I had to pull an all nighter starting about 8:30pm last night and ending around 6:45am this morning, and then be here in the office at 8:00am... so I am sort of in zombie mode ride now. I am still on 24 hr call, so hopefully it will be a quiet evening and I can go to bed at a decent time. I am definitely running on empty...

:tab Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes.

Good rest is a jumpstart for the body's immune system. Agree with good rest, and is easier than in a hospital.
Still believing for total restoration.

:tab Well, Dad was home and came to work all of last week and did fine. He is still very weak though. After seeing a lung specialist, they have him on the oxygen full time. As long as he is just hanging out, sitting at his desk, talking on the phone, he's fine. It's when he tries to get up and move around very much that he quickly gets out of breath. The lung specialist is not totally convinced that whatever caused the problem is completely gone. They are doing some more blood work to try to get a better handle on what might still be there. Given the medication they had him on, the lung specialist said he should be stronger by now.

:tab I am supposed to be leaving for a 10 day trip to Utah and Colorado with a few other TWT guys and my oldest daughter, Sarah. This will be her first big trip and she's VERY excited about going. We are scheduled to leave Thursday. This means Dad will be covering the office (with help) for the week that I am gone. The biggest deal is after hour calls. We don't normally get too many in the wee hours any more. I got HAMMERED by one while he was in the hospital and I was up for about 38 hours straight. It wiped me out. If he were to get something like that while I am gone, it would be rough.

:tab Just pray that they can nail down what is causing the problem so they can eliminate it and his body can get on with healing. Other than this, he is in quite good health. It is kind of getting him down a bit because he doesn't do sitting around real well. Please also pray that he just has an easy week while I am gone. Oh, and pray that we have a safe trip :thumb:

Thanks.

You will find him at Serious Texas Bar-B-Que in Durango.:deal:

:tab So Dad went in for some CT scans this morning. Tomorrow morning he and Mom will meet with the Doc to review the results of some blood work from last week and the CT scans. They're both pretty anxious about it and are hoping that the results will reveal what is really going on and what might be done about it.

:tab He and I were just sitting here talking at work. He looks much better and seems to be feeling better. He doesn't seem to be getting as winded just from talking like he did before.

You will find him at Serious Texas Bar-B-Que in Durango.:deal:

:lol2:

:tab IF we were going through Durango, that would probably be true. However, we will be going South of Durango on our way back to Farmington, NM. In Pagosa Springs, we will head South on some back roads and follow the San Juan River over to Navajo Lake.
