Wow, they built a bridge over the intercoastal? Is it open?
Yes! It's beautiful. Like a portion of a roller-coaster ride. It's the longest bridge to cover the shortest span I've ever seen. 不不不 Not a civil engineer, so maybe it's a weight distribution thingy....

Wow, it was windy out there today. Got out his afternoon for about 130 miles. Planned on it all being hard surface but one road was not when I expected it to be, and then missed a turn and decided to just hit the next road and take it. So only about 4 or 5 miles of dirt stuff.

First I hit farm country. Bad day for that with the wind. Should have stopped about a mile further down the road and now wish I had stopped again. There I could have gotten a shot of cotton that was not defoliated yet, one of a field that was defoliated but not harvested, another that was harvested, and then the final one that had the stocks chopped. Kind of interesting but instead I got these two images.

Then I missed my turn but this road was better anyway. Lavaca River crossing.

Rest was mainly state highways, just wanted to ride some miles. Got South of Cuero and stopped at one of the River Trail stops I had not been at.

The wind was really beating me up. Seemed like every road had a crosswind which was kind of strange. Oh well, got some 2 wheeled therapy. :rider:

You doing the trails on the GS?
To be clear, me riding this bike is nowhere near like me riding a proper dirtbike. Nice and easy and pick my trails. Couple of weeks ago I put my trail maintenance stuff on it and did a workday. Probably took her 10-12 miles round trip all single track. Dirt was very welcoming that day, actually was fun. If muddy and slick like today it's a no go, I tried but not alone. And when summertime dry and foot deep sand, again, no go. I'm old and can pick my battles. There's a few guys that regularly give the big bikes a go out there.

Took the blue bike out to the "backside " of the Texas Hill Country. Leakey, Camp Wood, Rocksprings, and Junction. Then South to Utopia, Tarpley and back to Kerrville. What a day! Beautiful!
Attending the BMW MOA Getaway @ Inn of the Hills in Kerrville Tejas.
The MSTA is on the other side of town in the YO.

Wish I had a better shot of the Frio Canyon MC Stop.
BMW's dominated the front row during lunch. Usually packed with cruisers.
We had a half-dozen or more for a while.

Left Mineral Wells this morning and it was windy. Wasn't too cold. Bert and I are getting in a last pre cold weather ride. Made it to Capitan. Had dinner at the OSO Grill. Tomorrow, ride thru CC then back thru Corona and Vaughn to Las Vegas. Next 4 days checking the Taos, Sante Fe, Cuba areas. Stopped by Champion Harley/Honda for a few minutes.
