Post your Day Rides Here!

Another beautiful day. This Spring has been awesome weather wise.

Short day today. I arrived back home at about 11:30 after making my last 4 stops in this years GTT.

Saw this heading out of town this morning. It reminded me of the wonderful event and people at the Rich Mountain Rendezvous.

When I made my first stop there 2 cars waiting for the gate to open. They were in for a long wait as it was only 7:20 am and a sign said the hours were 9:30 to 5. One wishful thinking person got out of their car and asked if I worked there.

Two of today's stops were General Stores

I have put roughly 4000 miles on the Wing in the last few weeks. It's ready for a good bath and some TLC.

So nice went for quick spin on forest service roads! 2 controlled burns going on, surprised they let us go through them. Little boy enjoying that nasty mud hole at Kelly Pond. only 100 miles today. Driving 500 miles a day 3 X's a week for crawfish hurts my enthusiasm even for bike miles.

Kind of surprised that's still going. Hadn't been there is over 10 years but I incorrectly assumed things were dying off around there.
No idea how they're doing, still hear chatter about being good. I've only been once, wasn't that impressed.

Rode to Grainger Lake to look at RV camp sites . You have to secure them online. I like the Frunk on this scooter . I tamed the jerky throttle by wire when going slow slow over bumps in 1st and 2nd with a $18. Amazon throttle stabilizer/cruise control set loose to return throttle but enough drag as it is twisted on. 64.8 mpg on regular gas.

I have used lots of those over the years.
for cruise? This one is adjusted where it won't lock throttle. I just tighten nylon nut to apply more friction to the kangaroo throttle. It made a tremendous difference on our pothole roads in this area; It will still spring back to OFF or idle. Look up the Kaoko brand bar end one. That is the way to go 149. dollars

Yes as a cruise.

You could use it as cruise or just friction adjuster. I had several and eventually did the Kako bar ends. They worked well, not so much for holding a steady speed but for reducing how tightly I had to hold the grip to keep the throttle from returning to idle position.

Many years ago I cut the head off of a framing nail. The nail was almost exactly the length of the throttle grip on my VFR 800. I slid it between the bar and inside of the grip. I could move it around with my finger tips depending on the throttle position I wanted and then it worked as a ridge for my fingers to lock onto so I could relax my grip. There was enough friction between the grip and tube that I never had any issues with the grip slipping even though it was not glued on. It had a LOT of hair spray in there so it was always kind of sticky :-P

I taped threads in the bottom of the cable housing and would put a L bolt in it to clamp on the cable guide , with everything adjusted a quarter turn with your thumb and the cruise was on . Total cost 0 . I havent really noticed a need for cruise control in several years now .

My first ride by wire bike. No I like cable better. I'm almost as shaky as Barney Fife. I have cramp buster it just doesn't work all that well on rough county roads. The solar farm and such construction made our county roads tore up from the floor up. We could have the X Games on some of our secondary gravel and paved roads in south Milam county. I live on one CR450. Heading out for a ride ...... NOW!

My ride from Tuesday afternoon. It's a 50-mile loop that I do frequently when I don't have a lot of time but need the 'therapy' to erase a day of corporate BS.

And also, I really like photography. Getting into it more and more. This is a still shot from along the way that afternoon - I was just playing around with camera settings and thought the pic was kinda cool.
