They take pictures of your speed and they will be sending it to you or the rental company. They are all over the place and on the Autobahn as well.

My son and his German buddies have some version of mapping software that shows them where the cameras are and I guess all of those cameras are why there is very little rolling law enforcement.
 
Rode to vets in Cameron to get heartworm meds. 3 month supply 67 dollars. I took the long way left at 7:30 home at 11:00 and it was hot riding home . Probably 80 miles or so. I was surprised at the large size of Cameron cemetery and all kinds of lanes going through it. I have always liked visiting! Cemeteries.
Stopped at BB in Cameron. Sausage gravy on homemade biscuits was so good. Less than 5 dollars with a DP zero. Watching my sugar and calories 😜. Brookshire Brothers grocery store has food to die for in the deli's. The fried chicken is so good. It's the crust. Fried catfish too.

I was born, learned to ride, and rode my sweaty butt off, in Laredo.

God created Laredo to train the faithful, and to condition them before going to the planet Arakkis.

The first two years we moved up to north Austin, I was checking weather.com EVERY DAY, and it was ALWAYS ATLEAST 10 degrees hotter than here. I still occasionally check, and it's STILL 10 degrees hotter.

You just get out and do it, and drink a ton of water. I rode 11 miles on my bicycle early this morning, then ran some errands on two different bikes, and a little later I am riding a third bike to the weekly Wednesday ROMEO lunch.

Yep we heard about that, then allegedly moved the training to the Lower Rio Grand Valley to harden up the faithful even more before going to the planet Fitness...

Hit the trails in National forest about 9am. Quit around noon, was 100* then! Did 2 loops, 6.6 miles and 11.14 miles. I was ready for home. Then had to hop on the Ducati and follow wife to Home Depot, it's now 105*, that was pretty miserable!

Less than twenty mile ride. That is why I can't motivate myself to drive five/six hours to ride in this heat. Just too hot. I have lived here all my life and really don't remember an August this relentlessly hot. One more thing you guys need to spray some Pam on your vehicles before hitting the road.
 
Update on my Germany ride. Yesterday the pain became too much for me and I went to the local German hospital ER. After examination by an orthopedic doctor, x-rays and cat scan it was determined that I have 4 broken ribs but no other internal injuries. So prescribed pain killer and anti-inflammatory meds advised to keep activities to a minimum and should be healed up in 6-12 weeks. Hospital bill for about 6 hours at the hospital was 440 Euros! Amazing!

Nothing to be sorry about, that would be more than enuf in these temps. My point is that it ain't worth the effort. :giveup:
 
Mid to high 80s and lower humidity here in South Central KY. I'm headed up to Dunn's Playground MX in a bit. Last weekend was just short of 100 degrees. This morning should be pretty sweet!

Well Shoot! I won Post 6000 and didn't even think about it! What's worse.. NO PICS????? OK... I've confessed my sins and will try to make amends.

We did, in fact, make it to Dunn's Playground MX, north of Brownsville, KY. It has a bit dry lately, so some of the turns are getting loose and the berms are building up... that was cool. We had a good morning ripping it, but I don't have a GoPro anymore and no camera on the dirt bike, so I guess the photos are from the parking area above the beginner and intermediate tracks. OK... I think I was at least thinking about pics...

Dunn's is open on weekends, and they don't run based on races and scheduled practices. Just show up and ride! What's better for me it that it's only an hour from the house. There is a Beginner Track, an Amateur Track, and a Pro track. Here is a shot where the Beginner Track is visible from the parking area.

In the Pic, at the point where my front fender meets the forks, there is a trail going off into the woods. That is about all that you can see from here of the Pro Track. it is 1.7 miles and literally loops around the north side of the Beginner and Amateur Tracks.

Just to the left of the beginner track is the Amateur Track, and some of it runs off into the woods.

We spent most of our time on the Pro Track. I'm not killing the jumps yet... but working my way back up to that point. Maybe never actually clearing all the doubles... or maybe none of them, but just having fun! I'm getting older, so I'm approaching the big air with caution right now... I'll get there again... It was a great day!

Just for a perspective, here is an aerial image that shows the locations of the beginner, amateur, and pro tracks (oh... and the stunt area, just north of the first parking area). X marks my parking spot. The Pro track looks fuzzy because it's mostly cutting through the trees. It's a fun place to ride...

Never mind that legend to the bottom left... :-)
