Was thinking about the KTM burger. But thought it might fall apart on the way to the table.

I would think the KTM (veggie burger) should be an electric bike.
I think they used to have something on the menu called the BMW (big Mexican Weiner) but no one ever ordered one so they discontinued it. Our housekeeper told us She likey the BMW.

@StromXTc talked me into a “lil day ride” to the hottest place in Texas.

Ended up at Falcon lake which is apparently on some form of lockdown, but we just went in and found a secluded picnic table to have lunch.

Then further south and hotter city of Roma. We looked over to Mexico but I couldn’t get Brian to go for a swim.

By the heat of the day we were in Falfurrias getting gas and a big Gatorade. Temp on my dash in the shade was 105!

541 miles later I’m back at the house. Thanks Brian, it was a good ride. Maybe do it again in July or August to really finish me off!

I think that was pretty close to his comment, “well, ya better get used to it. It only gets hotter down here.”

The park cop wondered why we crashed the gate. We were Hungry! They wanted everyone to have called in visiting reservations first (not). He was more interested in our bikes and I thought he was going to burn the paint off south Tex new 1090 with all the eyeballing he did. Really cool guy and wanted a adv bike it sounded like
Here's the rest of the pics to go with south Tex's story. About 430 miles for me with an indicated high of 102*

Did about a 100 miles on the 1090 today. Sorry no pics. I haven’t seen my Mother face to face for awhile so I took her a big bag of garden fresh vegetables. She’s upper 80’s so I warned her I was coming. I got there and it looked like an old western movie minus the guns. She opened the door wearing a mask and greeted me but warned to stay in the yard. I had my mask on and greeted her. She said “put the bag of veggies on the porch and back away”. I approached slowly and set the bag down, looking to see if there might be a gun on that 90lb woman. I backed up slowly as she eased out and got the bag, then backing into her house without letting eyes off me. A few more simply pleasantries and she told me she loved me and good bye.

I think I was 2 miles away still looking over my shoulder !

Got out for some “social distancing”. Up thru the neighborhoods to Research then up to 242 East to 59. 242 is a construction zone almost almost the way to 59. Mud clods everywhere from the trucks coming out of the zone and from a gravel pit on the south side of 242.
59 up to 150 to Cold Spring but ended up on FM 222 into Cold Spring. 150 to New Waverly. More construction with the road bed being replaced so got some gravel time following the pilot truck. Got to New Waverly to take 1375 across to 149. More construction made that a mess to try so 1374 to Huntsville and Sonic for lunch. #5 combo with diet cherry lime aid. Saw the Blue Angels pass over the East side of Huntsville.
West to Shiro on 30, 1486 to Richards. The BBQ place in Shiro is closed. Doesn’t look like they will be back anytime soon. 149 down thru the forest to Montgomery. 2854 to the slab and home.
200 miles on 4.1 gallons. No pictures as I just wanted to ride and not worry about much of anything.

I went riding in the Palestine area yesterday. Haven’t been in years. They’re slowly paving all the sweet dirt roads. I urge you to get out there soon!

Augusta was a bright spot. Lots of history. And great roads!

Hit the Davy Crockett NF too. Swampy after all the rain we’ve had.

Wow, spectacular photos! My 🐖 says no to sand.

I actually like all the lil paved (kinda) goatpaths in Freestone county east of Mexia. Soo much fun to ride.

Limestone county has a few too. & theres more further east & north (near Jacksonville...etc)

I'm itching to go ride through some trees and dirt roads out near Palestine and beyond.

I dig gravel and dirt, but not so much the sand. Anyone got any good routes for that?

Did about 100mi today as well . Ran over to The General Store in Kendalia where I met up @SpiritAtBay and @JT. We had some burgers before we took off to ensure we had plenty of energy to enjoy the beautiful day. While there I visited w three guys from Dropping Springs who rode in on an Aprilia Tuono V4, a Kawasaki ZRX1200 and A Triumph Speed Triple I believe. Nice guys, hope they got back home safe. On the road out and back there were a lot of riders out. Every seemed pretty chill and enjoying the day.

Took the 500 up and staged from The South Pole Country store. Nice place that has non ethanol 87 octane. Also some snacks and cold beer for the end of the day.
I found a lot more than I thought. Some very awesome roads, some of which hadn't seen a motorized vehicle in years. Cool creek crossings and some beautiful camping spots on creeks and rivers. Put on about 300 miles. So many roads aren't on any GPS/Google /REVER etc. Phone service for Verizon was almost non existent. I carry the Garmin 66i just in case. Temps ranged from 45 in the AM to 70 in ther afternoon. It was pretty nice day. In the 8 hours I was there I saw 3 cars no bikes and no SXS's. The deer in Ok are Huge. Lots of Raccoons armadillos Turkey and more snakes than I've ever seen in one day. I think this place could easily rival Ark as far as dirt roads go.
