I FINALLY got to get out for a ride today!! It was beautiful. Sarah went with me and we ran mostly dirt/mud roads and had a blast! We had a few “moments” in some muddy spots, but otherwise conditions were great!

My stress meter has now been reset :zen:

What a beautiful glorious sunset. Always wish I could put one like this one on hold. Someday...

It got even better as we were heading home!! The clouds got real high and thin, so even after the sun was way down, the sky looked like it was on fire. The clouds looked like a giant winged dragon ripping across the sky. Right as I was saying that, my daughter started to say the same thing!

Taking advantage of a really nice day!

Not much mud, just a few spots that have been easy to get around. Temp in the low 60’s. Mild breeze is blowing. ZERO dust. The only thing that might make it better would be some company :rider:

Rode out to The Switch, nice day for a ride and good lunch!

Very nice. I rode there a few years ago and been looking for an excuse to go back.

Got out today on the 1200 GS with my son, Daniel. The weather was perfect! We did about 170 miles or so, just a nice big wandering loop. The dirt roads were damp with a few muddy spots, but otherwise fantastic. We headed East over toward lake Livingston, ran around in the SHNF, eventually crossing I-45 at New Waverly and headed West through Montgomery, Richards, Roans Prairie, Iola, back down to Yankee’s Tavern at Carlos, and then high tailed it down a bunch of dirt roads back to Huntsville.

As expected, Yankee’s was packed! All manner of bikes were present. I got front row parking in front of the Harley Parking Only sign, my favorite spot :-P we grabbed some lemonade and walked around to check out the rides. Here are a few pics.

Do you see Daniel?

A custom paint job. My wife's favorite color!

The back half of this dude is on the other side of the screen... Not sure what the story is on this.

Sign on the side of the trailer said, "Win this bike!"... No thanks.

Bad pic of a beautiful bike!

I should have gotten a good full size pic of this bike, but it was in a crowded spot. It is a V-Rod. It had a lot of neat accents. Not sure if it is a true custom or factory custom. Daniel thought it was pretty cool.

Not my color, but these matching bikes REALLY lit up in the sun! Fantastic paint jobs!

If it isn't loud pipes, it's LOUD music... or both

Daniel got a kick out of the filler cap right by the seat... a Gatorade bottle cap with a napkin under it to make it fit tight. There was oil all over the body work behind the engine. The rear fender and bags almost scrape the ground, maybe 3/4" - 1" clearance at best. That is a 27" wheel up front! :eek2:

This bike was kind of neat just from a quality of painting/finish perspective. The pic does it poor justice because it had a HARSH back light from the sun and I was using my iPhone. The red accents were really deep and pretty.

Another great day on the bike. I wish I got more of them, but I'll take what I can get :thumb:

Nice. These pics fire me up for springtime to be sure. The next two days are looking good here in the Permian. I'm gonna try to sneak away from working and enjoy a day ride.

I didn't stop to take many pics while we were actually riding, but the pastures are all a deep green, flowers are popping up everywhere, red bud trees are blooming like crazy, some kind of big tree that blooms with white flowers is blooming all over the place (not a Dogwood), and I spotted the first Indian Paintbrushes along the shoulders of a few roads. It won't be long before the pollen storms commence... :eek2:
