Re: Pie Run II: Making Waves, New Waverly, 2/27

It was good to get to visit with other members and see some new faces too. Great way to spend a Saturday.

Re: Pie Run II: Making Waves, New Waverly, 2/27

Just arrived back home with 485 miles for the day.

It was a little cool (30 degrees) leaving the house this morning, but it wound being a great day for a ride and for a visit with old friends.:thumb:

Re: Pie Run II: Making Waves, New Waverly, 2/27

Some other folks got me beat on miles....I only did 375.The Sam Houston forest was somewhere I had never been through much.

Great day for a ride.....& A PIECE OF PIE. Met some of the Houston area riders during lunch. Sorry I can't remember everyone's name (Tom? Justin on the Buell...Chris? not sure) I do remember where some of ya live though ..Kemah ..Clear Lake

Whoever recommended The Waverley House knows where the good eatin spots are!! XCLNT Peanut Butter Pie ... & the pork chops were good too.

Took a little bit of a longer route home thru Riverside/Trinity/west of Crocket/ Buffalo/Groesbeck....etc.

First one of those Stallions I've seen on the road...Here are a few of my parking lot pics...

Just got home myself. I took the back way home to Dallas and it adds about 85 miles but it was a beautiful afternoon and I enjoyed the scenery. Total of about 350 miles round trip.

Re: Pie Run II: Making Waves, New Waverly, 2/27

This one is your best picture - because my red beemer is in it :rider:

I had a great time. Been a long time since I've seen Lee and it was wonderful meeting Phillip! Duane - good meeting you, too - even if you bought a Harley.

Great choice of pie joints. Food was very good and reasonably priced. The pie was some of the best I've had, beyond my wife's kitchen.

I stopped off in Cleveland on the way home to visit a friend. Arrived back at the house around 1700.

I think lonestarider came farthest--Amarillo! You meet a whole different crowd of people when you attend out of your area.

Who's 2001 Connie is that?

Came out really light in the photo didn't it? Actually an '06; last year of the run. Metallic Nocturne Blue w/Metallic Graystone lower.

Had a great day, by the way.

So much so I didn't even recognize it! (despite the fireman's suit draped over it).
Where were you hiding?

We had five in our group. We got off to a decent start at 0830ish, but took an extended break that put us in New Waverly at 1130.

Beautiful day to be on the bike. The Pie Run 'newbies' all look forward to future pie runs.

Re: Pie Run II: Making Waves, New Waverly, 2/27

Looks like ya'll had fun.
I tried to merge in when the Seabrook riders were going through Baytown. I think it was you all, maybe 3-4 riders?

Oh well...always next time

Re: Pie Run II: Making Waves, New Waverly, 2/27

Had a great ride this weekend to New Waverly and enjoyed meeting everyone.
Wished I could have stuck around longer and to meet with more of everyone but I had to get down the road (really more like up the road) to get back to the great white north. The coconut cream pie was the best:clap:.

Total mileage for the weekend was 1443.8 miles(course I tend to wonder around a little bit between points' A&B), see what you east Texas folks get to look forward to when you come up here for the Pie Run at the Mid-Point Cafe in Adrain, TX:eat: in June.
Miles and Miles of Texas, ahhhh yes!

We were 5 bikes; 3 cruisers, a GS and a silver Triumph.
Sorry we missed you, next time we'll setup a rendezvous. :rider:

Re: Pie Run II: Making Waves, New Waverly, 2/27

It wasn't nearly as frigid in the morning as I thought it was going to be. It ended up being a wonderfully sunny day on two wheels surrounded by good people.

Were you really cold? I thought you were a pretty shade of blue! You should of told me to slow down a little. Nice meeting you and the others.
