Sharing information from project manager Jeff Heller regarding the KP Trail project.
The work is complete and the KP Trail and Honeymoon are now reopened.
The area just completed at bridge 35 was heavily trail-braided due to the muddy mess it’s been for years.
As a result we had to excavate a large area to each side of the trail to redirect watershed, and general clean up.
This area has been posted with adequate signage to stay on the trail. Revegetation is important to prevent erosion, so we need to stay clear and let mother nature do her thing.

From the Coalition Prez.

Just to let folks know that the MUT trail is closing this morning due to the 6" of rain received in the area since yesterday evening.

The good news is this was the rain we needed to fill up ponds and creeks that have been historically low since the summer!

Going to be a long, sad week. Between forest being too wet and closed, plus 2 extra days work on a side job, no riding this week. Oh the horror.

Upcoming Quarterly General Meeting.

Visitors welcome. You can renew or join the coalition at this meeting

"I walked a few areas. Someone else walked down to B35 and got pics. I think it was the contractors pics down there. All project areas checked out really well. I can also say that a compilation of reports shows west side only got less than 4 inches of rain , while east side reports average out to the 5 to 6 inches during the rain event. Yall probably know the forecast is calling for 90% chances of more rains tomorrow. Trails are getting hammered and fs is appropriately closed them for much needed healing. As we speak, plans for more successful projects are ongoing.

For an in depth view of said works and planning, do attend the Coalition end of year meeting. Everybody is invited."
