I will be in San Marcos, TX this Saturday morning and have the afternoon free for a ride. Any recommendations for a route or some gravel/obscure road riding in the area? Don't want to deal with any traffic if possible

Bill Miller BBQ across form the Tanger outlet mall. then a quick ride down to New Braunfels and take River Road and enjoy the views, and a lap around canyon lake. Stop by the Canyon Lake Power Station. If they are discharging water it's very cool to see.

Head out rr12 toward wimberley. Hit the dirt asap and head to freeman ranch. Keep to the gravel as much as possible.

You must be talking WurstFest here in New Braunfels our 10 day Salute to Sausage it has been going on since 1961 and is supposedly one of the largest of its kind outside of Germany. They actually have people and traditional musicians come in from all over the world to this deal.Octoberfest is in full swing...no way you're NOT going to SEE traffic this weekend. A good friend of my wife is flying in from UTAH for Octoberfest. I can't believe this fest is that well known outside of TX.
Our house is just up the hill from the Hall and at the end of 10 days I have heard the Chicken Dance so many times it rattles around in my brain for an extra week

i stayed away from SanMo and went to Hidden Falls Adventure Park for the afternoon.
I hope to be going there soon with the Jeep
