Hi everyone, after looking at lots of reviews, I would like to purchase a schuberth c5 helmet, but am having trouble finding any stores that carry them in stock. I have no idea what size helmet I need, so want to find a store with a few in stock so I can find my size and hopefully a color that I like in my size..
Can anyone recommend a store on the north side of Dallas that carries this make?

Many thanks Gary

I have a few Schuberths, they are my preferred brand. I think their fit compares favorably to Shoei. So, in my experience, if you can find a Shoei size that fits, that same size in the Schuberth will work. Note that Schuberth sells different liners for the C5 (at additional cost of course - if Schuberth is anything, it ain't low cost) so that you can tweak the fit. My head shape is a little bit more of a longer oval than the stock Schuberth, so I get the kit that accomodates for that.

Many thanks, I am still trying to decide between the Schuberth C5 or the Shoei Neotec 2, but the C5 seems to get the overall win, but I have not tried either so would Ike to find a shop that has both so I can compare them and buy the most comfortable one that fits my head.

I wear a C5. It's my first Schuberth, coming from an Arai Signet Q and then a Signet X, so I have a long oval head. With the available liners, it fits extremely well. It's the only modular I've found that fits my melon and not cause a hot spot within a hour.

Buy from Revzilla. Return for another size is painless. I've found C3 runs a bit small and need to size up one size. Not sure about C5. Great helmets.

Thanks guys, I thought Shoei must be coming out with something new soon, the neotec 2 has been around a very long time.. will try and find some comparisons between the C5 and the neotec 3, and then decide which helmet to get.

I've been a long time Shoei wearer, having had several X-series and RF-series going way back, ending up with Neotec, and lastly GT-Air, which I still wear regularly. A few years ago, when it came time to replace the Neotec, I didn't like Neotec II's built-in proprietary intecom, since I already have ones I like. Spending several hundred more just doesn't sit well with me. So I jumped ship and bought a Schuberth C4 Basic, which is the exact same helmet as C4 Pro, except without the built-in intercom. If Shoei offered the same with the Neotec II, I would've stayed with Shoei.

In any case, I like the C4 Basic a lot. Ventilation is as good as the Shoei Neotec. visor and built-in sunshade both worked well. Fit was generally good for my round non-oval head, except... the infamous Schuberth forehead. I had read up about it and test-wore the helmet in the store for a good 15-20-min, far longer than any other helmet I've tried. I thought I did my due diligence to make sure I wouldn't be afflicted by the Schuberth forehead.

Well... very first ride with it, my forehead started to hurt after about 45-50mins. I tried the spoon trick to get a bit more forehead clearance. Didn't work. Tried shifting the helmet around periodically to relieve the pressure. Nope.

So now, I have resigned to using the C4 basic as a commute helmet. Even then, it is kinda iffy in the afternoon, which can easily get into the 45-50min danger zone. Kinda sad to say, but I won't be buying another Schuberth again.

If you plan on buying a Schuberth, make sure you test wear it for as long as possible. Even then, best to buy it at a store that offers return and/or exchange for another helmet.

I had the same forehead pain point when i tried one. i really wanted it, but it was clear I'm just a Shoei head.

If you have a BMW dealership up there they probably carry Schuberth. Cycle Gear might, I can't remember. Revzilla (same company as Cycle Gear) does make returns painless, so that might beat driving around.

Thanks everyone, Cycle gear in Plano had both the Shoei and the C5 in stock, it was the older Neotec 2 not the new 3, but it was clear I am a Shoei guy, whilst I am sure the C5 helmet is a great helmet, I just didn’t like the way it felt on my head, the Shoei felt to contact my head all over with even pressure, the C5 seemed to have bands of area that contacted my head, that might be great to allow ventilation but it felt odd to me. Am going to get a shoei Neotec 3 once they become available in the USA..

I purchased my C5 through Revzilla. I ordered the wrong size the first time and the return replace was easy. I have owned the C5 for 10 Months and love it.

Go to European Motorsports in Plano. They are the BMW dealer in NTX. CALL first to make sure Jessica is there that day in parts. She fitted me with a new Schuberth several years ago and she is very knowledgeable about their helmets. When it’s time for a new lid, I’m going back to her!

I bought my last Schuberth at Cycle Gear (50% off too) and my dealer sells them as well (European Cycles in Plano).

I couldn’t wait for the USA to get the shoei neotec 3, so I ordered one from champion helmets in holland. It arrived in 3 days, fantastic service and the helmet fits perfectly! It’s a Xmas present so I won’t be able to use it for a few more weeks.. 😁
