Anyone from here going?

Eureka Springs AR, Sept 12-17.

I'd never attended, but I love riding around the Eureka Springs area for sure. Never ridden the scooter in such a prime area either, but if I can attend, I'll be on my Xmax 300. I'll have the time away from work no problem since I'm recovering from a recent ankle replacement. I hope to be good enough by then to ride the scooter several days. The thing that makes the scooter so nice for me (as soon as I can ride that is) is no foot controls!

So other than the recovery issue, the only other obstacle is telling the wife I'd like to go. She seems very protective of me at the moment.

So anyone going/thinking about going?

Five coming up from San Antonio area. Avoiding the interstate. Taking a leisurely path around. I believe we are leaving on the 10th.

I was seriously considering it but I can't do a whole week and don't want to join the goofy forum just to be able to view the map and schedule. We could conceivably drive up for one day, but I need to know which day is going to have the riding we want to do.

The planners need to get out of the 90s.

I have been once before. Buffalo went that year as well. It is a laid back older group of folks. I had a good time. Lodging was adequate, food was good, and roads were awesome. I had a Burgman 600 at the time.

I wish I had the money/time to go. It looks like a scootin’ good time. I think riding up there at 55mph and stopping for gas every hour and a half would be a very memorable experience.

The only reasonable thing would be to trailer the scooters to it. That's what we were planning to do. I'm not riding a 125cc scooter all the way to Arkansas.

Counting down the days. It's been a long time since I did an overnight trip but this is part of my retirement plans so I'm gonna dive in. All those times in my youth with no phone, no credit cards (gas only), paper maps and old and poorly maintained bikes. Never has a problem outside of two blowouts and a car nudging me off the road. Now I have route navigation, gear and tools, a new bike and a few frayed nerves. See you on the road.

I think I can share details of my ride on REVER. Try the link below. I posted route and pictures and REVER has other details.
It was fun. The longest trip I've taken. The roads in Arkansas and Oklahoma were incredible. Made some friends and picked up some new skills.
My scoot Kimmie preformed flawlessly among her bigger brothers, mostly Bergman's and BMW C650's.
I spent too much time trying to keep pace with a Vespa 300 on the mountain roads due to a clearly superior rider in front.
It was good times, hope I get to go again.

We need to hang out. You have a mega scooter AND like to shoot guns. Sign me up. Sounds like you had fun. I know I did when I went. It was a brutal summer when I went and as I passed Choctaw Casino, I remember thinking, I gotta get home! Are you gonna expound on your trip at that link? It was a bit sparse when I clicked on it.
We took the C650 Sport out last night to Grapevine and I took the back roads home since it was so nice last night.

They are clear that this is not a bike show, it is a rider's rally. Many guided rides to choose from when you check in with most of the guided rides between 29 to 234 miles through mountain roads. The rides are categorized as spirited, moderate and leisurely and when you ride spirited, they expect you to keep up no matter how fast or difficult the roads. I've had a motorcycle license since 1975 and it was quite humbling to be offered advice on how to ride. But you know, I went to have fun and push myself. My only defense was I was new to scootering and my Kymco was only two months old with a few hundred miles on it. I think I did improve my overall riding skills. The guided rides did take some breaks to see sights and for picture taking so it wasn't just going flat out.

The roads were fantastic and the people friendly. They did have some non-riding activities but my group usually did our own thing. Here is a few more pictures from the rally.
