Now that I'm a retired guy, my weekends are better saved for my significant other, since she is still working M-F. Riding during week days also has the advantage of less crowds and lighter traffic on the roads I'm thinking about, which are mostly gonna be dual-sport routes. While I don't mind doing solo rides, it's always more fun when you can share the adventure, right? So, any other retired / off-shift folks on here that might be interested in joining me? First on the list would be a two day, ET500 scout ride. Post up here if interested, and hopefully it will blossom into a regular "club".

First off congrats on retirement!
I’ll be watching, if you plan any rides towards the Midwest I’ll join you!

Thank you; lovin' it! As for longer rides, it would probably be awhile before I did something like that, but certainly not out of the question. We'll see how if this gathers any steam, and what kind of riding most will be interested in. Just time wise though, one/two day rides might be a good way to start out; baby steps!

This week is out, but weather forecast for next week still showing no rain (so far). How about Mon/Tue, leaving from Livingston Walmart, overnight in the usual spot, Center, TX?

Next Monday, I'm heading to Meridian State Park for a 3 night camping trip.

Might be doable 🤠
Well, that makes 2 of us. I plan to be at Walmart at around 0800, KSU @ 0830. Probably stop for lunch in Milam, and arriving Center in decent time to check in (I'm a hotel kinda guy, but each person responsible for their own sleeping arrangement). I'll be staying at the Sleep Inn for anyone else who might want to join us. Second day is shorter, and will get us back to Walmart in plenty of time for drives home.

Looks like I can make this. If nothing crops up between now and then.

Reservation made for Sleep Inn.
Looking forward to this.

Lord willing and the creek don't rise I'm a definite. There's about three or four different ET450 tracks would you mind posting or linking to the one we'll be using.

Great! I prefer routes, just so I can track distances and waypoints better. Here you go.

So as not to turn this into a discussion thread, but keep it pure for upcoming suggestions for rides, I've posted an after the ride here:

Post up here if you've got a suggestion for a future mid-week ride.

The better half will be on a business trip next week, so as they say, it's time for "the mice to play"! We were not able to finish this scout run last time, so anyone up for trying it again with me? Planning for next week, Mon/Tue, leaving from the Livingston Walmart with the stopover in Center as usual. Long range weather looks great so far, but I will be keeping a close eye as the date approaches. Anyone?

Right now, have a lot on my plate but weather is getting favorable for me toss’n a boot over the saddle. Keeping an eye on this thread, may just join you Rob for one of these rides if’n y’all can put up with this ole crusty fart. ;)

As always, the more the merrier, Tom. What will you be riding?

Cool. Just be ready; no rain in forever means there will be deep sand for sure!

Well, maybe a gravel road here and there but I'm not up to wrestling a 500lb bike through deep sand anymore. Think I'll pass...
