I saw somewhere it's actually 600 or so, that's a lot if actually in the dirt. Not sure if that was dry or wet weight.

I could totally be interested in one of these...

I have been on the fence about getting a more street worthy scooter. I am kinda torn between the new hard core version of the Honda Africa twin and the 790.

I read somewhere that production version of the 790 ADV and the Yamaha T7 are to be unveiled at ECIMA this year and to hit showrooms in 2019..

Yep...or get a 2018 1090R for about 2500 less.

But...the 790 is still lighter and probably the better tool for more technical adventures.
2018 for 2500 less is even better! Is that at TJ's also?? Missed it. Not in the market right this second but still on the table. Also if I keep doing like this last weekend the 690 is back on the list. If I'm trailering don't need a big bike, period. I'd take the 690 over a 500 just because it'd be better for road sections and probably carry what I need for the day better. Also the 690 is a more comfortable fit than the 500, I mean the 500 is a dirt bike, lol.

Not an actual deal but I'm almost positive I can get a leftover 2018 from KTM of North Texas for around 12K based on prior history.

KTM gets aggressive with incentives to move prior year new stock. It's good and bad, good is a great deal. Bad is resale tanks and you lose if you buy current model years.

If you get serious, let me know and I'll see what they'll sell one for.
