CC travel question. Have only been there once and it was from I-10 at Ft Stockton up through Pecos etc. Bad road conditions and oil field traffic have me looking for a better route. Starting point is SE TX so heading west is a huge part of the trip. Suggestions.
We drove I-10 from SA to Junction then north to Eden and west to San Angelo, Big Spring, Hobbs and Artesia, which has you arrive in Cloudcroft from the east. You cannot totally avoid the Permian Basin truck traffic, but it was tolerable.

Sander getting it done at 9000feet.

NOT ME ! IT TAKES A VERY STEADY HAND. YIKES ,THAT EDGE!

Made it home, and can breathe again

It was 54 degrees when I left at 630am this morning. 13.5 hrs drive thru.

Thanks for an awesome time Sander!

Trails are serious. If you go down and forbid, break an arm etc and cannot extricate yourself from the situation, make sure someone knows exactly where you were going. It's a big wilderness and not likely they will be travelled twice on any given day. And prepare for cold nights too. I'm not saying this to be cocky about it, it's just true.
